    3. Pat, you can have searches done without joining any society. There's a charge for each search. The Bucks FHS also sells transcriptions of parish registers, but only a minority of parishes are covered so far. Datchet is transcribed (therefore searchable), but not yet published. They'll search as many variants of the name as you can think of, & even suggest more sometimes. http://www.bucksfhs.org.uk/ Since Datchet's right down in the south of the county, near the Berkshire, Middlesex & Surrey borders, you might find them wandering back & forth, especially to Berkshire. It's on the Thames - & Berkshire is on the other bank. http://berksfhs.org.uk/ You can buy the death certificates from http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/ usuing the references from FreeBMD already given.
