try family search has 1880 american and GB census to access for nothing ---- Joan <jmmj75@talktalk.net> wrote: > Hello. > Back on list after following up leads re HUDSON, MANSFIELD and PHILLIPS with Bucks connections. A few years ago one could go into the 1881 census and do just that. However, in my present quest for some obscure family members in a number of places in the 1881C, I have been frustrated. Tried ancestry, find my past and lost cousins but although I'm "registered" with all 3, I can't get past the webpages that ask you for a subscription. I'd be grateful for a "what to try next" from a VKS. There's no problem if you have a subscription to any of the big names. > > I have contacts who would gladly do specific look-ups, but because of the contradictory info I possess this is not an option. Does anyone know if it is possible to search the Buckinghamshire Advertiser on line or by other means? It is a useful source of information for us Bucks researchers. I recently found many old cuttings in a deceased relative's scrapbook of a "then and now" nature covering events in the 1880's. One of them "from 50 years ago" might be of interest as it's a name I've seen before in this digest.
