    3. Generally, AutoReplies are sent only once to each person who emails Donald (in this case, via the mailing list). So, anyone who posts to the list should get the AutoReply from Donald only once, until he turns it off, anyway. And I daresay Donald will probably be quite amused to see the stir this thread has caused when he returns as well. :-) Cheers, -- Toni Skidmore Tingewick list Co-Admin Chicago, USA Researching: CLIFFORD/CLIFTON, DEAN(E), HOLLAND, NEAL(E), and NOQUET in Bucks Judith wrote: > If Donald's Out of Office set up is the same as mine, you will only get the > one message. There might always have been a possibility that it is not even from him, but generated by the stupid kids who think it is funny to harvest other people's addresses and send out messages as if from them. I get 'bounced' messages allegedly from someone at my domain (which is a name shared by no one else). 1. CROOK, BRAISHER, PICKERNELL
    2. Cathy Pinner
    3. Hi List, I've just joined having learnt a little more about my ancestor born in Buckinghamshire. Does anyone know of the following family or other CROOK or BRAISHER families in the area? Does anyone know of a link between the CROOK and PICKERNELL families. See details below. My gggrandmother, Rhoda CROOK was born in Turville, Bucks 1823-1831. She gives a different age on every census and I've just got her marriage certificate which is different again. In 1854 in Brixton, Surrey, she married Charles HAWKINS born Canterbury, Kent. According to the Marriage Certificate, Rhoda is the daughter of Brazer CROOK, a carpenter. On 1851 Census (from familyhistoryonline) I've found Braisher CROOK, sawyer, and family living Turville Waste, Hambleden, born Hambleden about 1798. I've also found (on ancestry.co.uk) a marriage in 1792 between a William CROOK and Catharine BRAISHER. These could be his parents though I have no idea how common these surnames are in this part of the world - but it does suggest the first name is probably Braisher. I've found him and his wife Mary again on the 1871 Census - this time transcribed Brazier but the image isn't yet available on ancestry. In 1861 Charles and Rhoda are living in Brentford, Middlesex. In 1871 Census Rhoda has remarried a Thomas SMITH and is living in the same area of Middlesex. In 1881 she is widowed and living with a cousin John PICKERNELL, born Isleworth, Middlesex. No doubt it's time to check out parish records on film at an LDS Family History Centre but thought I'd ask. Cheers, Cathy Western Australia

    3. Hi Tezz, The reason you could not find her under Cave is she must have been a widow when she married Mr Beasley...Her name is actually Emily Gertrude Warner..and I have her on the 1881 and 1891 with her family....What makes it a clincher is that her sister Florence is actually living with them in the 1901 Census... If you would like the images let me know... Her father was George Warner and mother Anne.... 3. Ruby I can't find a connection to your Bradburys, but this is just to let you know that we have a Mary Bradbury, daughter of Thomas, born in Great Horwood c 1840 and married there in 1768 (IGI Batch M073222) to Thomas Chapman born 1736 (in Wicken, NTH?). As far as we know, their children were Thomas Chapman 1769-1788, born in Great Horwood or Waddesdon, and Sands Chapman 1770-1850, born in Waddesdon, and that their mother Mary died in 1770. You mentioned Aylesbury: there is also a connection between the above and Thomas and Thomas Sands Chapman, bankers of Aylesbury, but despite a lot of searching, we haven't found out the dates or marriage of this Thomas, or the birth place/date of son Thomas Sands Chapman. 3. Hi Alison I'm afraid all I can say is it is not ready yet, but it is certainly progressing. I have included my last reply to the list below about this (of approximately 1 month ago) hopefully it explains the situation, and all that it says applies equally now. Kevin Quick ==============copy of earlier posting================= The short answer is I don't have a definitive date when the CD-ROMs will be ready, but we are hoping it will not be too long now, so I can only request that people are patient for a while longer - I am personally very keen to see the end product from all the hard work we have put into this. As members of this list are probably aware, we completed the transcription and checking stages of the project some months back, and at that point all the data was passed over to the software company which is responsible for creating the CD-ROMs - the completion is now entirely in their hands. They have to take the census data and import it into their search engine software - the search engine is superb, allowing mapping of data and complex searches etc. but to do this requires the porting of the data (as provided by the BGS) to the format of the CD database and the creation extra relational indexes etc. and its this process which is being worked on. -----Original Message----- From: BUCKS-L@rootsweb.com [mailto:BUCKS-L@rootsweb.com] Sent: 05 December 2004 12:57 To: BUCKS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [BKM] 1861 census cd Importance: Low Hi all, I expect you are fed up woth people asking this question but do you have any idea when the 1861 cencus CDROM will be ready?  I'm sure i am not the only one who is wondering and i haven't seen the question asked for a few weeks so i thought i'd ask again best wishes Alison ==== BUCKS Mailing List ==== Please do not post long surname lists.  Dave Carlsen looks after the Bucks surname list, which is the proper place for such postings.  Go to: http://webpages.charter.net/dcarlsen/genuki/BKM/bucksurname.html
