    3. ----- Original Message ----- From: gill kelly To: Bucks-list@rootsweb.com Sent: Saturday, December 11, 2004 5:16 PM Subject: PERKINS look up request I am struggling to find a record for the marriage of Alfred PERKINS, Steeple Claydon, and Mary TACK... He is somewhere recorded as a butlers assistant, I think... although I may have been dreaming it as I cannot find it again now. I believe he met Mary in service too, but that is conjecture and family story... However, they did meet, marry, and produce offspring, of which one, Margaret Annie, was my grandmother.b.1900 in Beamond End. Could anyone with a moment to spare (two weeks before Christmas!!! I must be joking) please do a search for me... Thank you so much.... and greetings of the season! Cheers Gill TACK, YATES, PERKINS, WICK to name but a few!

    3. Would anyone have any information on the following marriages gathered some time ago from the IGI-LdS website:- William (Gulielmus) MAIGER (MAJOR) b abt 1647 Soulbury Bucks who married Annae ? abt 1666 in Soulbury Bucks. Also among their children was, would you believe a William (Guililmus) Major who was apparently born14th June 1684 De Buagna who married Elizabeth Willcox on 2nd April 1719 possibly in Soulbury Bucks. Any information on these marriages would be appreciated together with any known details of where or what Du Buagna was/is. Regards. Richard Hobbs. Melbourne Australia.

To an extent, they were still building railways in the 1870s - my grandfather built railways and he and his gang went all over the country, and his wife went with him, so no two children were born in the same location in the same visit. And once the railways were built, they had to be manned and maintained, so men could get drafted from anywhere -you didn't normally just turn up at a station and ask to be a porter - it was a matter of great competition. -- Eve McLaughlin Author of the McLaughlin Guides for family historians Secretary Bucks Genealogical Society

There are two Hortons - neither of them in the Wycombe or Aylesbury districts. One is just over the border from Billington, Beds, and might be the more likely to have come from Horton, the other is in the south east of the county, and a fair distance from Wycombe. George Evans is noit an uncommon name and the other strong possibility is that he was never registered. A lot of parents didn;t see the point in those days. > >Birth June 1842 - >Evans George Aylesbury 6 320 > >Births Dec 1842 >Evans George Wycombe 6 409 > >also > >Births June 1842 >Evans George Woburn 6 119 If he was born slightly north of Horton-in-Ivinghoe parish, in Beds, this could be a possible one. And I would associate the name Snoxsell with Horton (there in 1798) rather than Wycombe You could send for the certificate 'only if father's name is Richard; > Tabithas family was from Wycombe... ? -- Eve McLaughlin Author of the McLaughlin Guides for family historians Secretary Bucks Genealogical Society

    3. <<Has anybody out there researched the WILLIAT family in Bucks? The name crops up twice in my tree: 1 Numan Williat married Frances (LANE) widow of Mathew DEVERELL 4 Feb 1633 Swanbourne>> Dear Bill, I am interested in the Williat family who lived in Great Horwood (and Little Horwood) from 1465 until the 19th century, though unfortunately my interest in them ends in 1600, so I can't help you with linking up the later generations you mention. The Newman Williat who married Frances Deverill in 1633 was born in Great Horwood in 1603. The tradition of using the christian name Newman, which the family maintained right into the 19th century, seems to have begun with his father (a yeoman of Great Horwood who died in 1610), so presumably his grandmother was a Newman heiress. Though that first Newman seems to have preferred to be called George, since he sometimes appears in the records as 'Newman alias George'. Regards, Matt Tompkins Blaston, Leics

    3. Has anybody out there researched the WILLIAT family in Bucks. The name crops up twice in my tree 1 Numan Williat married Frances (LANE) widow of Mathew DEVERELL 4 Feb 1633 Swanbourne 2 Newmam Williat appears as a middle name in the BRISE family in 1800s (this is my mother's side!!) A Newman Williat held Brises farm at enclosure from his grandmother Frances Deverell according to Ken Reading This would suggest 1 and 2 are the same family. The name also crops up in my wife's tree !! Newman Williat son in law of John JACKSON (will of John 1650) This one had children Newman (1644 Gt Horwood?) and Hugh I have his will dated 1676 I suspect he might also be 1 above but have no PRs to prove it eg death of Frances after 1633 and marriage of Newman to Hester Jackson Newman sen and jun are mentioned on the Helmsdon website as of Bittlesden. Lipscombe gives me gravestone at Mursley Newman Mar 7 1792 age 87 and Johanna (wife) Jun 2 1767 age 66. and bailffs of Buckingham 1785 and 1804, also a Freeman Williat at Grandborough 1797 I'd love to link this lot up. I have looked at 1881 census and found Henry Peter Garner abt 1854 (aged 27) Pinner, Middlesex. His wife Eleanor 33y is from Hackney, but there first child is born is Beatrice from Pimlico, all say Middlesex.
