    3. Hello fellow listers, I am searching for the PIDDINGTON family/families of Buckinghamshire. I am particularly looking for my husband's great-grandmother, Annie (Ann) Piddington, born possibly in Cuddington or maybe Thame ?? in 1862. Annie Piddington arrived in Australia in 1883 at the age of 21 on the "North". Also on board was a George Piddington. Annie Piddington married George Miller in 1884 in Armidale, NSW, Australia. I would be most grateful for any information. Many thanks in advance, Ally McRae - Bribie Island, Australia

    1. Bucks Militia 1809-1813
    2. John Parisee
    3. Help Please, My gggg grandfather JOSEPH MOULDER enlisted in the Bucks Militia on April 2 1809 until leaving for the 74th regiment in 1813. Joseph has put up many brick walls for me due to him moving around so much. The first brick wall I have with him is his marriage to a Sarah. Does anyone out there have any knowledge of the Bucks Militia and thier movements during this time ? A kind soul has filled me in somewhat with some chronological information and another kind soul had done some research for me and provided me with a copy of his description papers when he was done serving his time in 1820 so I have some clues to go on. One area of advise I need to help find his marriage is where would Joseph enlist in the Bucks Militia ? I am hoping I will find his marriage in the area he enlisted. Joseph was born 1788 in Chilton, Bucks I then have no record of him until he is listed with his description book as living in Wycombe in 1809 upon elistment in April. By Dec of 1809 I have his first child christened at St. Mary's Parish in Dover Kent. Joseph married a Sarah who I did find on later census' and she lists being born in North Leigh Oxfordshire about 1781. I have checked all these parishes for their wedding along with St. James and St. Mary's in Dover although I have not checked Wycombe. Any suggestions ??? I truly appreciate anyones advise. And if anyone has any advise in finding Joseph after his service is done in 1820 I would be grateful as well. Joseph's papers say he "settled in New Brunswick" so I am guessing he left his wife and children for a new life in Canada, I have not found him anywhere else after 1820. I am getting desperate and this brick wall has been up for years !! Thank you, Nancy in Connecticut __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! 3. Hi Norman I had a look in the 1851 Bucks census but can't find any married Henry (or Harry) SEER(S)/SEAR(S). Samuel SEARS is also missing. However there is a Hannah SEARS (39, married, head of household) and children living in Great Marlow - eldest son Emanuel was born in Bisham. The other SEARS families in Great Marlow are Joshua SEARS (29, chairmaker) and family, Ann SEARS (35, bonnetmaker, relationship listed as WI but no husband or head of household listed!) and some other SEARS women visiting her, and another Ann SEARS (36, house servant). There are also SAYER families in Great Marlow, not sure if this is a variation on the surname or a completely different lot. I am intrigued as to where all the Sears men are hiding..... 3. 1841 East Claydon, BKM, p. 9. William Jennings 40 ag lab y Mary 40 y Eliza 20 y Thomas 15 y William is next to brothers Tobias Jennings 65 and Charles Jennings 75 (he is a son of Charles). William's wife is Mary Whitall. All are on p. 9. If you want Richard (William's brother) who md Mary Ann Radwell, they are not in EC in 1841 as he died 1826. The Richard Jennings who is in EC in 1841 is a son of Mathias Jennings and Elizabeth Simons and was b 1825. They are on p. 10. Mathias was a son of George Jennings, brother to the above Tobias and Charles. I have 16 pp of the 1841 for East Claydon that I copied from the microfilm. It can be tricky to decipher. Winslow didn't have a cemetery - as it was a rural area, the churchyard would still have been in use. However, it was cleared and the stones used to form footpaths years ago,. That is a pity, since as a major tradesman, he would probably have had quite an elaborate stone. 1. Israel DRAPER and family - Clifton Reynes and Olney 1800s
    2. Dianne Sutton
    3. I am researching the inter-related WHITLOCK and DRAPER and RAINBOW families in the Beds/Bucks/Northants border area. Some but not all of them "travelled". Ellen DRAPER (born c1820) married John RAINBOW and her sister Darnity DRAPER (c1829) married Richard WHITLOCK. They had four DRAPER brothers I know of Spencer (c1824), Billy(William) (c1833), Kisby (c1834) and Ellick(Alexander) (c1837). However there is an Israel DRAPER in Olney on the 1881 census aged 72 lodging at 8 Berrills Court with a Katherine Leybutt. In 1851 Israel is at Clifton Reynes with a wife Rebecca born Clifton and four children born in various locations. This moving around and Israel's unusual given name made me wonder if he too was a member of a Romany family. Then yesterday my attention was draw to this ancestry.com data 1871 Census Olney at Thompsons Cottages William Rainbow Head Married 28 Malster born Sherrington, Bucks Rachel Rainbow Wife Married 29 born Sherrington, Bucks Kisby Rainbow Son 7 born Sherrington, Bucks Frederic Rainbow Son 5 born Newport, Bucks Louisa Rainbow Dau 2 born Sherrington, Bucks James Rainbow Son 9m born Sherrington, Bucks Israel Draper Uncle 64 Ag Labourer born Newton, Bucks I know this RAINBOW family - William is the son of Ellen nee DRAPER, so to be William's Uncle Israel looks to be Ellen's brother (Rachel was a BOON before her marriage to William). Is anyone researching Israel DRAPER and his family? Any sightings of them or any travellers would be welcome. Thanks Dianne
