    3. Have just found another Valley in the 1841 census - this one is Valley MONK age 19 in Crafton (hamlet of Wing). She is still around and unmarried in the 1851 census, with first name transcribed as Vallura. Her parents were both born Cheddington. I know these aren't directly related (that we know of) to your Valey, but you never know, these snippets might come in handy! Regards Alex in Auckland NZ Find local movie times and trailers on Yahoo! 3. Coming in late to the Valey discussion....I have been transcribing the 1841 census for Wing, and when I just sat down to finish checking it, lo and behold four names in on the first page I was looking at is a Valley CUTLER. In the Bucks 1851 census CD there are only two women named Valley - your Valley SALES (born Hanslope) and this Valley CUTTLER (born Drayton Parslow) - so the name was clearly rare. It would be interesting to see if their families are connected somehow once their maiden names are tracked down. A visit to the Milton Keynes Heritage Site at http://www.mkheritage.co.uk/ is a good starting point. Bob S NZ I have in my tree a woman in Stoke Goldington in the 1841 and 1851 censuses. It is an unusual first name and I would be interested in discovering her maiden name. In 1841 she is listed as Valey Sail, age 76, born in Bucks. She was living next door to her daughter and son-in-law. In 1851 she is listed as Valley Sales, age 83, widow, born Hanslope. She was living with her son-in-law, her daughter having died in 1844. She had a daughter Mary Sale, born about 1795 in Bucks, married 14 Nov 1814 to James Tame. I am interested in more information about Valey, and her husband Mr. Sale/Sail. 3. Message reposted with the correct title Dear List Many thanks to all of you have provided useful information last week on my request to search the Census records for Mead. Encouraged by this I wonder if you might be able to find two more sisters on the 1871 census (1851 is too early) 1. Edward SIRETT (or Syrett) 46 b Stratton Audley Oxf (farmer) Annie (or Anne or Ann) Sirett 38 b Hogston (alternatively Drayton Parslow) Bessie Sirett 8 b Steeple Claydon ?? Mary Ellen Sirett 10 b Claydon The most likely parish is Steeple Claydon 2. Mr ? HEDGES Mary Hedges 35 B Hogston (alternatively Drayton Parslow) ? Annie Belgrove Hedges 10 Unfortunately the first name of the husband is not known and it is possible that he was already a widower by 1871. Mary Hedges is known to have died by 1872. The most likely parishes are Hogston, Drayton Parslow, Stewkley Thanking you in anticipation Rachel

    1. RUSH in 1861 census
    2. Jon Whiting
    3. Thanks to all those wonderful people who have sent me information on my Rush family. I have now got back a further generation in my tree. I am hoping that someone can complete my information from the 1851 and 1861 censuses. John RUSH (b. 1818 Silverstone) married Leah in 1856 and at the 1861 census would be living with her children from a previous marriage Leah Nichols and Elizabeth Nichols, as well as his children Thomas (b.1857 Stoke Goldington) and possibly Ann (b.1861, Hartwell, Bucks). Any help greatly appreciated. Jon

    3. We are told that Susan(nah) Stanners b. 1837 at Great Missenden, Bucks to William & Mary Stanners married William Puddephatt. No trace has been found of their marriage or of any children. Have looked in the 1871 & 1881 censuses and the IGI (which only contains our own groups' speculations) - Any ideas welcome Thanks John Stanners (New member)

    2. Helen & Tony Robertson
    3. Hello there everyone, This is the first time that I have written to the list. My name is Helen Robertson and I live in Tasmania, Aus. I am after any information concerning Job HARMAN, my Great Grandfather. He was a convict and arrived in Hobart Town in 1842, aged 22 years, so he was born in 1820. He was tried in the Surrey Newington Quarter Sessions on the 21 March 1842, and was sentenced to 14 years in the colony. After 7 years he obtained a conditional pardon, married and had a large family, remaining in Tasmania and dying at the age of 86. His convict record states that his native place was WYCOMBE, BUCKINGHAMSHIRE and that he had a sister named Sally living at his native place. No parents are mentioned. I would love to hear from anyone who might be able to help me continue my research and maybe find some relatives living in England. Regards Helen. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. 1. James and Mary TAME lookups
    2. Jon Whiting
    3. I have a James TAME and his wife Mary living in Stoke Goldington with a daughter Leah. Leah marries John RUSH in S.G. 14 Jul 1856. Could anyone please do a look up for this family in the 1841 and/or 1851 census? I would also be interested in James and Mary in the 1861 census. The IGI entry gives the marriage of Leah and John Rush as 'Leah Nicholls or Tame'. This suggests that Leah could have been married previously to a Nicholls, but I have not found any details of this prior marriage. If anyone has any further information then I would be interested. What you have, i think, is a smith-striker -in other words, the blacksmith's assistant who wielded the heavy hammer ('when I nod my head, hit it - OW!) Coach is a statistician's addition presumably to show he was employed in a railway engine/rolling stock making works. If this is at Wolverton or Bradwell, then for sure he was in the Railway Works there,. -- Eve McLaughlin Author of the McLaughlin Guides for family historians Secretary Bucks Genealogical Society

The four were all children of farmer/grazier William PAYNE and Charlotte (nee ARIS): William bn 1830/1 John bn 1835/6 married someone abt 1863 who died before 1871 after having 3 children, name so far unknown Charlotte bn 1838/9 Mary bn 1841/2 Parents William and Charlotte had come over to Bucks from Northants (he from Boddington, she from Lois Weedeon, where they married in 1827) Son William stayed on at Little Linford at least until 1881, didn't marry. Son John with his children, two sisters and mother Charlotte moved back to Northants and was a farmer in Everdon 1871 onwards. If anyone connects with these folk, it would be good to hear from you.
