    3. It's not Shurvill. As Shervell, she was still unmarried in 1861. Harper wasn't. Elizabeth Harper was, but she's separate in 1851 - Elizas younger sister. Eliza Collier's slightly younger, so I think it's probably Harper. There was also Eliza BURRIDGE at Spurgrove, Hambleden, age 11 in 1851. One of the Medmenham Elizas is Eliza SPINDLER in 1861, wife of Marlow Common, Great Marlow. Oh, I love this BGS 1861 census! I've already replied to Jeanette with David & family, but it went off-list, although I meant it to be for the list. Doh! 1. NAYLOR
    2. Hello All. As a new member I should be grateful for any help with a brick wall that two of us have been trying to surmount for a while. Our trees connected with my wife's ggrandparents generation. They were Elizabeth and (H)ellen BEETLESTONE of Donington in Shropshire, the daughters of Thomas BEETLESTONE of Shifnal and Martha nee NAYLOR. Acccording to Martha's wedding lines her father was Joseph, a blacksmith. Censuses on two occasions gave Martha's place of birth as Yorkshire, but more recently we have had an alternative location of near Old Stratford and Wolverton. GRO possibilities exist both in Potterspury and several areas of Yorkshire. Their place in Donington backed on to the estate of the Earl of Bradford, which we investigated with negative results, but we now propound the theory that Joseph may be connected with the railway works or with the Union Canal. There is a death in Potterspury in 1838 and a Martha born 1841. (Certs being got) The 61 Census of Donington shows Rene,59, head,m.charwoman b. Old Stratford; Elizabeth23,b.Bucks Bradle?; Martha 19 , b. Wolverton.Mary Ann 7m daughter in law b. Donington(probably illegitimate d/o Elizabeth or Martha) Investigation of the Naylor name shows that most are in Yorkshire! but we found one other family of Naylors in the Stratford area. Any reference to the name I should be grateful to receive. Jim

    1. LORD family of Olney/Weston Underwood
    2. Michael & Amanda Lord
    3. I hope someone may have some information on the LORD family residing at Main Street, Weston Underwood. James and Eleanor LORD were with their children Eleanor, Ann, Elizabeth and Sarah in 1851; they were with their daughter Elizabeth in 1861. On both occasions residing at their address was visitor William LORD (born Olney 1803). I am particularly interested in William, as I am hoping that he is my "missing" GGG-grandfather, who is missing from both censuses, his wife and family living in Leicester. Any information, no matter how insignificant, about this family would be gratefully received. Best wishes, Michael & Amanda Lord Leicestershire

    2. chris mcdonnell
    3. Hi All I am looking for details of the marriage between John HARE and Mary SPRING in Fulmer, Bucks (IGI says 11 DEC 1784). There are some transcription errors on the HARE name - their first child in born in Fulmer but seems to be HEARNE on IGI, later they are in Hedgerley where my GGG G/Father is born in 1792 but he has been IGI'd as Henry AYRES. Fingers crossed - this is a ten year brick wall set to tumble! many thanks Chris ___________________________________________________________ Yahoo! 2. Alexandra Coles
    3. Hi Shirley No, the parish records for Bucks generally aren't on line, although there may be snippets here and there. The Bucks section of GENUKI is good for details on what might be available for any given place: http://met.open.ac.uk/genuki/big/eng/BKM/#index and click on the Towns and Parishes link, then look for Swanbourne. The coverage of LDS films for Bucks parishes is also pretty good, so you should be able to review the films of the parish records. Thought the census might help: I went through the scans of Swanbourne's 1841 census for you (well, your William was on the first page, love it when that happens ;) : Matilda ROGERS age 30 occupation looks like carrier (so might be mentioned in county directories of the time?), born in county Sarah ROGERS age 7 born in county William ROGERS age 5 born in county plus same house in her own household: Elizabeth TURVEY 3 born in county Swanbourne piece 50 ed 31 folio 3 pg 1 Unfortunately no man of the house (apart from young William of course!). Had a quick skim through the rest but didn't spot any other ROGERS. However in the 1851 census he is still living at home - plus Dad is there too! ROGERS William 40 born Swanbourne, farmer 27 acres 1 lab ROGERS Matilda 40 born Bow Brickhill ROGERS Sarah 17 born Swanbourne, dressmaker ROGERS William 15 born Swanbourne, employed on farm ROGERS Alfred 7 born Swanbourne, scholar ROGERS Susannah 4 born Swanbourne, scholar ROGERs Mark 2 born Swanbourne Swanbourne piece 1722 folio 115 So that gives you an outline of the family. 3. Are you sure that isn't Wheatley Oxfordshire? I don't know of a Wheatley in Bucks, www.streetmap.co.uk shows none, but Wheatley in Oxfordshire is very near Cuddesdon. The Oxfordshire Marriage Index shows the marriage of Samuel HUGGINS *of Wheatley* to Faith HUGGINS *of Wheatley* at Cuddesdon 27-Dec-1819. Try the Oxfordshire list. Or you could buy the OFHS (www.ofhs.org.uk) parish register fiche, is you have access to a reader (neither Cuddesdon or Wheatley is yet available on CD, I think), & trace back your HUGGINS in Wheatley & Cuddesdon. Good luck, Paul D'Silva Genealogy wrote: >I am looking for the father of William HUGGINS b. circa 1836 in Wheatley in Bucks.
