From the record office in microfiche format of the originals or as transcripts from either www.bucksgs.org.uk/ or www.bucksfhs.org.uk/ I can't remember which one it is though. If you get the microfiche they usually cost around 2GBP per fiche and are sold in sets + post and packing. Some record offices also charge a handling fee. Check with the record office for their charges.

    3. Would you happen to have an Arthur or Olive STOCKBRIDGE (both born in Tonbridge, Kent) ?? I have them listed on the 1891 census, both living with a Frederick ELPHICK - Arthur was 20 years of age at the time and Olive (his wife - supposedly) was a couple of years older. However, in a subsequent census, Olive was much younger. 2. Towersey Family Research
    3. Thanks everyone who assisted in advise on what to do, or where to look. I have now got the information I was seeking, from another source. What I was seeking was who did William TOWERSEY marry at Long Crendon on the 11 January 1840. For many years, I had that he had married Emma ING, but recently I was contacted to advise me that my information is incorrect and that her name was Emma TUG. Search as I might I could not find Emma TUG on any other records other than the printed records on ancestry.co, Free BDM, and FindMyPast. These all appear to be a copy of the printed records. Now viewing the original certificates that have just been emailed to me, I find that she was beyond doubt, Emma ING. The problem was a typo error. Emma ING's parents were Thomas ING and Maria nee BALL. Thanks again everybody Ron New Zealand

I am in Sydney, > Australia, so any suggestions welcomed Local papers are your best bet because coroner's inquests are theirs to destroy after 15 years unless the case is of particular note in which case they are closed for 75 years. There'd be a coroner's inquest into any sudden death, such as from a heart attack or stroke, therefore, the majority of inquests wouldn't be of any interest. Nevertheless, it would be worth checking with the record office to see if they do have any at all.

The problem was > a typo error. The GRO indexes, as found on Ancestry, FreeBMD and Findmypast, are just indexes to the actual records, plus they are transcriptions of transcriptions so there is plenty of room for errors to creep in. Add to that the returns from the register office would have been handwritten, so it's very likely that the GRO clerk misread the register office clerk's writing and the error has never been picked up until now. I'd very strongly suggest that you use FreeBMD's postem system to let others know that Emma TUG should be Emma ING. FreeBMD won't correct their transcription as it's a faithful transcription of the GRO register.
