If Christine Aldridge is on this list, or anyone has an up to date e-mail for her, please let me know. I have some information for her which i want to send. EVE
Do you have any information on the academy? I of course meant Buckinghamshire not the town. George Grace was first a schoolmaster in Steeple Claydon where most of his children were born. He married Charlotte who came from Gloscestershre. They moved to Winslow where his last son was born. Any information you may have on the "Academy" would be gratefully received. Hi Michael, I suggest you look up "The ROADS Family of Buckinghamshire, and 'One- Place-Studies' of Waddesdon, Grendon Underwood and Wotton Underwood." at http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi? op=SHOW&db=hrohrer&recno=44046. there are 294 references to Grace, many seem to be from Waddesdon looking at the first page. Hope that helps Anthony Holt On Dec 8, 2007, at 5:57 AM, Michael Grace wrote: > Hello everone, > My first post to the list and would like to make contact with > anyone > researching the following. > > GRACE in the Waddesdon and Aylsbury areas. > WHITE also in the above areas. > > Many thanks. > Michael > *************************************** > > BGS Website: http://www.bucksgs.org.uk/ > BFHS Website: http://www.bucksfhs.org.uk/ > Bucks Genuki Website: http://met.open.ac.uk/genuki/big/eng/BKM/ > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to BUCKS- > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes > in the subject and the body of the message >

I am interested in the Thompson family who served in the above from circa 1856-1898 when I believe the Militia was disbanded. I know that Richard Thompson came to Wycombe in 1856 after his service in the Grenadier Guards ended and he remained active until shortly before he died in 1881. I also know about his son John Thompson's (1857-1897) career in the Militia and then progression to a life in the Army. I would now like to know more about the other son - George (1861-?) - he was a drummer boy, then moved up the ranks and I believe he might have moved on to the Oxford & Bucks Lt. Inf. when the Militia disbanded. His family are on the 1901 census without him, and in 1905 when 2 of his daughters married their marr. certs. state he was in South Africa. Does anyone know anymore about George or his family? Hello everone, My first post to the list and would like to make contact with anyone researching the following. GRACE in the Waddesdon and Aylsbury areas. WHITE also in the above areas. Many thanks. Michael
Calling on anyone who has a connection to or information about any Simon Howletts between 1600 and 1850. Desperations calls for desperate measures! Emma
This is a test
Hi Bill, If no-one else replies try the Bucks Record Office at:- http://www.buckscc.gov.uk/bcc/content/index.jsp?contentid=-746638797 They will be able to give a definitive answer. If you haven't been there already it might be worth your while popping in and looking at their personal name indexes. I looked at Swanbourne whilst researching the LENO family and, if I remember correctly, the DEVERELLs lived in the local manor house. Hence, they probably have documents relating to property, mortgages, wills, etc., deposited there. Again, the staff at the Bucks RO might be able to confirm this by email. Hope This Helps, Al > Date: Mon, 26 Nov 2007 19:54:57 -0000> From: "Bill and Jenny Deverell"> <[email protected]>> Subject: [BKM] Swanbourne Parish Registers - gaps > > There are gaps in the Swanbourne Parish Registers between the late 1680s and> around 1712.> > Does anybody know if the info is in the Bishops Transcripts ?> > > Bill _________________________________________________________________ Celeb spotting – Play CelebMashup and win cool prizes https://www.celebmashup.com
There are gaps in the Swanbourne Parish Registers between the late 1680s and around 1712. Does anybody know if the info is in the Bishops Transcripts ? Bill
Does anyone have any information on the WATTS family - my interest is George Watts (b. 1767) married Elizabeth Norman in 1789 I have found one daughter Jane (b. about feb 1792) I am particularly interested in parents and birth date of Elizabeth and if there were any other children from the marriage. Many thanks Brenda
Hi, Still desperate to find a second marriage for Lucy Howlett. Is there anyone who access to the Farnham Royal Marriage Registers? If so, would someone mind taking a look to see if Lucy is mentioned. This would have occurred between 1837 and 1841 (I think). Thanks in advance, Emma
Hello Jane, Thankyou for replying so quickly and for the information. I know of friend united but do not know what you mean by "facebook". Could you kindly give me an explanation. Many thanks, Eileen
