    3. Hi there Diane, Yes this is the family i am researching. David Bates married Elizabeth TARBOX in 1868. I think the Name TARBOX was very popular in the area but trying to tie two or three families together can proove somewhat frustrating lol Do you have any connections with the family? 3. Just had a quick look at my copy of the BFHS 1851 transcription and that shows a John TARBOX at Cross Street in Fenny Stratford with a wife Mary and children. Is this your family - Mary is born Mursley but John is born Drayton Parslow not Fenny Stratford and there appear to be lots of TARBOXes from and in Drayton Parslow. There's also a young David BATES in Cross Street. There's some pictures of Fenny on the Bletchley Archaeological & Historical Society web pages: http://www.mkheritage.co.uk/bahs/archive.html smee.innit@gmail.com wrote: > Hello there, > > My name is Christine and i'm new to the list. 1. [BKM] Marriage NIXEY & GIBBONS
    2. Jon Nixey
    3. Hi again listers, I've been sent some details by a fellow Nixey researcher, which says that Thomas NIXEY married Anne GIBBONS . . . no place, no date? I do know that Thomas and Anne had at least 4 children all born at Oakley, the earliest known being John NIXEY in 1787, details found on the IGI. As Thomas was born in Cuddesdon in 1758, if there is a marriage, it would likely be between approx 1778 and 1787. There is no trace of a marriage on the IGI, and I recently paid for a search from both the Bucks and Oxf FHS, neither of which had their marriage details. Having said that, John's baptism at Oakley in 1787 was also not in the search results. Is anyone researching the GIBBONS family in this area that may have info related to Thomas and Anne? If so I'd be very pleased to hear from them. Kindest regards to all, Jon

    2. Jon Nixey
    3. Dear listers, Recently I posted a request for help in finding David, Jane and James NIXEY in the 1841 census. This evening, I discovered they also had a daughter, Charlotte, who was born in 1838 in Clewer, Berkshire, and in the 1851 census was living with her uncle and aunt, James and Elizabeth PAINE. Going to the 1841 census, I decided to search for any Charlotte's born between 1837 and 1841, starting off in Berkshire, and found a Charlotte Nixon, aged 3, and a James Nixon aged 1, in the household of a William Hawtory aged 25 at Clewer, Berkshire. This name means nothing to me at the moment. I was wondering if sks could kindly check the image for me to see if the children's surname was transcribed as NIXON rather than NIXEY please? And, if its not too much to ask, would it be possible to have a transcription of the additional household details, such as address and William's occupation, etc, please? The ref is: 1841 census HO107; Piece 26; Folio: 7; Page: 8. Please don't send images offlist though, as I'm totally blind and I wouldn't benefit from your kindness. Thanks! Kindest regards to all, Jon

    3. The difficult bit isn't finding the building (you can't miss the great grey eyesore, visible from many miles away, the tallest in town), but finding the entrance. In a straight line, it's about 200 metres from the station. It's in the County Offices - picture & map of location, including station, here - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/272207. The entrance is tucked away on the east side: the right when you stand with the station behind you, or the left when you're standing in Walton Street, facing the building. At ground level. If you find yourself viewing the old County Hall (opposite side of the road from the other building) from the angle shown in this picture - http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/897532 - then turn round, & you should be able to see the entrance to the archives. 3. Hi If you put HP20 1UU into MultiMap you can see the relative locations of County Hall and the Station. Click birdseye view for a view of the building. The Centre for Bucks Studies has a separate entrance over to the right of the picture - just off Walton Street.
