It might help to list the children's names and dates if you know them and the parents of Elizabeth Ervin and where she lived if you know these facts. Since there are many New England records, if you can push back a generation or two, someone may have the line from there on back. If some locations are known, it would give a start as to where to start searching for Erwins and Bucks. Did you try any alternate spelling of Erwin such as Irwin?
