Did anything I wrote provoke that interest..or did you find out about it on your own? The Buck who "went missing" was Charles C. Buck. my gr gr grandfather..He was born in 1831........to a Henry E. Buck and the former Mahala Bisbee. He went to work as a surveyor in Lynchburg, Va in the 1850's and was caught up and never left because of the Civil War.......... He married a half-Indian/colored former slave woman and had a number of chidren in Va. The oldest being my gr grandmother.... C.C. Buck opened up a confectionery/candy store in L'Burg and ran it with members of his family for a number of years until he sold it in around 1906 or so. He was quite the prominent businessman for a number of years.. He also led an Elks chapter too... OK......talk to you soon. By the way, where do you live now? I live on Long Island in NY State.
