A little more information regarding Robert Nietzel Buck, born 1914 in Elizabeth, NJ. He was born a Nietzel (hence the middle name) and his mother, Emily Bellingrath, married a Dr. Buck (not sure of first name) sometime before 1930. There were not a lot of Buck families in Westfield at that time, so it shouldn't be too hard to find them. After Robert began his early flying career, the family moved to Bucks County, PA and later to Vermont, where Bob and his son, also a pilot, live today. Bob flew for TWA, was friends with Howard Hughes, and also with Tyrone Powers, among others. He flew B-17's into hurricanes for weather research. He was also friendly with Everson Pearsall, now of Scotch Plains, another pilot, and cousin to Bob's wife, Jean Pearsall. Most of this came from Everson, who is now 86, in a conversation today.
