While going thru my late Aunt's old papers and letters, I found a letter dated from 1879 (written to her gr grandfather) from his sister Octavia asking him ( my gr gr grandfather C.C. Buck) to name their new born child. And other letters from his other sisters Celia Dunham and Capitolia Buck. All from Bucksfield/Bucksport Maine.... Is that something else or what? So I guess that about slams the lid on it, we could be very distantly related. Anyway, I think as I said before, Chalres Carroll Buck relocated to Virginia from Maine to work as a surveyor but got caught up and stuck there when the Civil War began.... And even after the War was over, he ended up remaining in Lynchburg for the rest of his natural life, marrying my gr gr grandmother Mariah Harrison Buck......and having 5 children. I still have pictures of C.C. Buck and the candy/confectioners store he used to own and run down there during the late 1800's and early 1900's...... OK....lets keep this going!! The more we can mutually find out the more we can learn about our distant Scottish forebears.... Talk to you soon. Tim
