Surnames: Buck, Potter, Colier, Atkins Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/VYG.2ACIB/1572 Message Board Post: I am looking for information on Hiram C Buck's father. Hiram C. Buck is burried at Crystal Plains Cemetary in Smith county Kansas. Hiram was married to Adelia Potter 2 Jan 1857 MI. He homesteaded in Smith county Kansas and came from MI. I have his children Alice Marie, Rachel Ann and James Oliver all being born in MI. The two girls in Iona county and James in Gratiot county. Hiram was married before to Harriet Ann Atkins and had two children Morgan and Sylvia. I am not positive of the information on first wife and children and would like to verfy it. I belive that Hiram's father was Dorman Buck and Mother Lydia Morilla Colier but have yet to verify that. The census records have Dorman and Lydia living in OH Medina county and Hiram was listed at the same address. Hiram was born 11 Jun 1822 in Madison County OH (according to my records). Hiram was an Civil War Vet he served with CO A 21 Reg Mich Vol. That is printed on his headstone in KS. I have newspaper article! s of his death and obituary from Smith County Ks but they do not mention his Father or Mother, only that he homesteaded in Ks and came from MI. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Hello Cousin, I have basically the same information you have on Hiram Clinton Buck. But like you no proof positive. I think all my information on this family came from Paula Buck. I didn't have him married prior to Adelia, thats new info for me. Until that is verified don't think I will add it to my program. I believe his father is Dorman Buck mother Lydia Morilla Colier, are you able to go back farther on the Buck, if not I can help with that. Would it be possible to get a copy of the newspaper article and obit on Hiram from you. I believe he goes back to Enoch Buck and Mary Beebe as do I.
