    3. Dear List, Last week, I made a request for information on Hiram Buck of Macon County, IL. He was born in Steuben County, New York on March 1, 1819. He died in Macon County, IL on August 21, 1892. His wife was Martha Hammett of Douglas County. They married in 1846 in Coles County, IL. He was the presiding elder in the Decatur area Methodist church and was a founder and member of the Board of Trustees of Illinois Wesleyan University. The library at Illinois Wesleyan is named the Buck Memorial Library. Upon his death and later death of his wife, their gift to the University totaled about $250,000 in land holdings. Since this last post, I have learned who his siblings were according to his obituary, they are: Derrick Buck of Fall River, Michigan Mrs. Adeline Kreidler and Mrs. Julia Kuder of Daneville, New York Mrs. Abigail Beach of Englewood, Illinois I am very interested to know who his parents were. The 1880 census lists Hiram's father as being born in CT and his mother as MA. The 1820 US census for Steuben County, NY has three possibilities for his father based on the age of the male children in the household, they are: Cyrus or Cyril Buck John A. Buck Ebenezer Buck I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks, Kent Elam
