I am seeking information on Hiram Buck, a Methodist minister. Hiram and Martha Buck are found in the 1850 census living in Vermillion County, Illinois. They list their birthplace as New York. By 1880, they are in Macon County Illinois. They were large landowners in township 16 of Douglas County. One of their bequests was a large piece of land to Illinois Wesleyan University in Normal, Illinois. Wesleyan stills owns this land. I would like to know what churches he ministered in this area in addition to anything else you may be able to share. My purpose for this inquiry is because I am writing an article for our upcoming centennial and I am concentrating on the original pioneers/landowners of this area.
