It is very interesting about Pittsford, VT and the history including many families. Also the author said there many be errors. But this Manuscript has Elizabeth Waters as the wife of Isaac Buck. Here are some to the pages. History of the Town of Pittsford, VT with biographical sketches. by A. M . Caverly. 1817-1879 at the University of California Libraries on line. Page 31/32. In the year 1770, seven individuals with their families, influenced by the glowing accounts they had heard of the new country,cast their lot among the pioneers of the wilderness of Pittsford. These were Koger Stevens, Ebenezer Hopkins, James Hopkins, Samuel Crippen, Felix Powell, Isaac Eood and Isaac Buck. Roger Stevens was the elder son of - Stevens,* page 35. Isaac Buck is supposed to have been born in New Milford, CT about 1735, and at age 22 married Elizabeth Waters and located in that town. In the spring of 1770, he came to Pittsford and purchased of James Hopkins a small tract of land, which is now mostly owned by Thomas D. Hall. He built a house on a point of land, about 60 rods northeast of the east-and -west road. In the fall of that year, he removed his family, consisting of a wife and 3 children from New Milford, to Pittsford, and this was the 8th family then located in the township. Page 38. Samuel Waters was from " Bailmons Patton, Dutchess county, N. Y.," but we are not able to trace his genealogy. He came to Pittsford in 1763, only about two years after the charter of the township was obtained, when the whole territory was an unbroken wilderness, and he was so well pleased with it that he bought six rights of land, those of which David Parpaw, Elisha Harvey, John Loomis, Samuel Fuller, page 63, Capt. Timothy Barker in 1778 married the widow of Isaac Buck and removed his residence from Nesliobe to Pittsford and occupied the house already having been built by Mr. Buck. Able Stevens son of Roger Stevens married Eunice Buck daughter of Isaac Buck and on 21 Nov 1779 bought of his father 145 acres of land for L400. Page 81. Petition to Earl Dunmore. Land containing 1,500 acres, which tract of land was granted by the Governor and Counsell of the Province of New Hampshire. Signed by Isaac Buck. page 100 Major Beach in passing through Pittsford he delivered the mess age of Col. Allen to Benjamin Cooly too with him Isaac Buck Jr. page 107. American soldiers were not prepared for a winter campaign and many broke out with small-pox among those victims was Isaac Buck Sen. of Pittsford. Jan 1776. Isaac Buck died in Quebec, CAN. page 130. * Feb 1779, Lot sold by Roger Stevens Jr. to John Gilmore of Londonderry, NH a lot next to Isaac Bucks Heirs. page 695. Buck, Isaac married Elizabeth Waters. Isaac died of small pox in t he Army. Elizabeth married #2 Timothy Barker who died and she married Mr. Bates of Shaftsbury, Bennington, VT. Children 1. Isaac md and located in Addison died Madrid, NY. 2. William md Elizabeth Murray and died Fairfield, VT. 3. Samuel md Bush and resided in Bridgeport, died NY. 4. Alfred. 5. Eunice md Able Stevens, moved to CAN about 1795. 6. Betsey md Joel Dolittle died in CAN. Buck, Alfred son of Isaac was born 28 Mar 1771, first male child born in this town, md 1795 to Marcia Barnes bn 17 Mar 1772. Children: 1. James bn 10 Jan 1796; md Chloe Bates and removed to Wisconsin. 2. Lucy bn 1 Sept 1707; md Peleg. C. Barlow, M. D. removed to Illinois. 3. Abel bn 29 May 1801; 4. Addison bn 19 Feb 1804; 5. Betsey bn 22 May 1810, md James H. Ewings, M. D. removed to Wisconsin. Buck, Addison son of Alfred md 16 April 1827 Amanda H. Haywood who died 4 Nov 1853; md #2 10 July 1861 to Fidella Field, who died 7 Nov 1871. Children 1. Harriet bn 23 Dec 1829, md 21 July 1853 Elijah S. Broughton. 2. Charles A. bn 29 May 1832; died 26 Aug 1835. 3. Charles Fitzland bn 23 Feb 1835 went to CA 4. Francis H. bn 23 Feb 1835 twin died 26 May 1835 5. Julius Horton bn 13 July 1826. died 20 Aug 1853. 6.
