Good Morning, Regarding the discussion of Morgan Buck being related to Jonathan Buck (1755) and also Jonathan his son, born 1786 in PA, I have found no evidence. I've been researching Jonathan for about 40 years and have spent many summers in Putnam County with my Father's family. I am descended from Jonathan Buck through his last son Isaac Buck who was born in 1800 in Carter County, TN. His son Jonathan, was born May 1, 1786 (if my memory is correct on the date) in PA, not NC. Jonathan sold his land in PA around later part of the 1780's (1789 I think) to Robert Akers and moved westward into TN. (Jonathan, Isaac, Enoch J., Erastus Hickman, John Howard, Stacy Lee to me) According to census records, there is a Jonathan Buck Sr. and Jr. living in NC in 1815, but it is not the above PA Jonathan. Jonathan Jr. was married twice to Glaphy Denton and Elizabeth Barnett, but in copies of bible records recorded by the daughter of Jesse Hickman Buck, Ollie Buck, and the county historian, Juanita Heard, there is no Morgan Buck listed as a child for either mother. There is a John Buck listed in the NC census whose wife name is Elizabeth, but no last name is associated with her and these were both pretty common names for the times. I have pictures of both Jonathan's tombstones and neither one has a middle inital in it and to my knowledge there has never been a middle initial associated with either of these Jonathan's. Jonathan Buck (1755) is buried in the Buck Cemetery in Putnam County, TN. His son Jonathan(1786) died in 1868 in a house fire in Putnam County and was buried on his farm which was located across from where the Buck Family Cemetery is presently located on the Mullins Farm, (was the home of Enoch Buck). His tombstone was later moved to the Buck Cemetery as it was located in a field with cattle and they had trampled down the stones, according to the family that lived there at the time. At the present time, the parents of Jonathan Buck (1755) are unknown. Isaac Buck and Hannah Hicks were married in Philaldephia in 1775 and the information contained in the book by Katherine Raines Buck was never documented or proven. Sadley, she was in the process of updating and correcting her book when she passed away a few years ago. The parentage of Thomas Buck and Elizabeth Scott has not been proven as of yet either, but it is a good lead. If anyone would like to email me, my email is buck1755@ix.netcom.com, I'll be glad to share any information I have with anyone. Cynthia Buck-Thompson
