The Dr. William P. or William T. Buck family in Avoyelles Co., Louisiana had a Gurdin Purdy living with them in 1880. One wonders if the son Gurdon in this family was named after Mr. Purdy rather than being related to the New York City Gurdon Bucks. Dr. William Buck had a mother Martha J. BUCK living with his family in 1880. She was age 59 born Virginia.
