He was a confederate soldier in the Civil War. he was wounded at Seven Pines Virginia in 1862. He reentered the fight and was captured in 1863. He spent therest of the war in prison until 1864.

He was a Congressional Medal of Honor winner--and he fought on the Confederate Side? Was this a Confederate Congressional Medal?
