Some of you have been asking about a book by Mrs. Elizabeth Richards who wrote about a family that lived early in ME and in Bucksport, Maine. The full citation is: Richards, Mrs. Elizabeth S., Genealogy of the Buck Family which settled in Cambridge, afterwards Woburn, Mass. in the year 1635 (Reading, PA, Eagle Book and Job Press, 1913). I have taken time the past few Saturday afternoons to copy the pages from a copy in our local library with my digital camera and finally have almost all the pages copied in readable format, excepting four pages that I need to redo this Saturday when I go to the library. I printed out the index and the first 60 or so pages, so can do a few lookups. I have also typed the names from approximately the first 8 generations into my database. Since, there are a lot of common names, please include more than a single family name if you know it since my time for lookups is limited and making your person of interest easier to find would be appreciated. It appears that some later generations of these families ended up in the South -- several I was looking at on Saturday were from South Carolina or Virginia. I noticed families also went to Texas, Minnesota and Tacoma, Washington. There is no place index, however, so I cannot do lookups according to location. Margaret Scheffler
