Have you checked for Ebenezer BUCKs in Ohio and Indiana in the 1850, 1860 and perhaps later census? If there are any Bucks living close to where your Eliza lived, you may find some candidates. You might want to do a generic BUCK survey of all the BUCKs in 1850 close to where Eliza married since she likely had other family members living in that area. Of course since she married before 1850 you will not likely find her with her father, but she and her husband might be found living close by. Also try to find the Ebenezer BUCKs in 1840, then go to the same locations in 1850 and see which BUCK families are still there. Let the list know if you find possibiliites of others of her relatives and someone may be able to come up with further suggestions and information for you..

I have little information on my Buck line. My last Buck ancestor was Eliza Buck (b. 5 SEPT 1828 in Ohio) who married Richard Grinstead on 13 OCT 1844 in Jennings Co., IN. Her father was reportedly Ebenezer Buck, born sometime in the 1790s (according to a 1840 census) and who reportedly came from Vermont, then Ohio, then Indiana. I see there are several Bucks who came from Vermont to Ohio during the same period and I was wondering whether anyone had info on my Buck line. I also see that there are at least two Ebenezer Bucks that were born in the 1790s, although they both are from MA. I don't know what happened to them (where they went), so one of those Ebenezers may also be the Ebenezer that I am looking for. Any info would be a great help. Thanks!

My 3rd Gt-grandfather was Edmund Buck and he lived in Otterville, Ont....so many similarities between his family and Barzilla Buck family. Edmund was born in NY State in 1807 and went to Ontario,Canada sometime in the 1820's. He married a Catherine in 1831 in Grimsby Twp. He was a bondsman in 1834 in Grimsby for the marriage of Abraham Buck and Catherine Merrill. He moved his family to Otterville about 1840 and was a Miller by trade. He and Catherine had children: William, Abraham, Elizabeth, Robert, George (my Gt-grandfather) Joseph and Mary Catherine. You may have run across this family as you have researched in Norfolk Co. for your Buck family. George Buck moved to Muskegon Co., MI in 1870 and I believe some of Barzilla's descendents also were in that area. Much more on this family, but have you also thought of a connection? Marian
