He was married to Matilda and those are the correct dates. I need to forward this to another cousin to check on further info. Thanks so much. I do have the info in a file; however, I gave all that to daddy and he has since passed away. I know I can find the info soon and get back to you. Thanks again, Ruby Buck Camp
Hi Al, I wish the people involved in those message board postings would transfer the discussion to this list. I find it very frustrating to try to get details that make sense in that forum. I think that the belief was that Morgan Buck was perhaps a grandson of Jonathan BUCK born 1755 through his son Jonathan BUCK but I could have misinterpreted the thread. I had answered a message board posting by Dave ellis.anwyl@verizon.net that I believe the parents of Jonathan BUCK might be Thomas Buck b. 1712 and Elizabeth Scott b. 1717 rather than Isaac BUCK and Hannah HICKS for which I found a marriage date of 7 May 1775 in the Philadelphia Swedes Church. I have seen no credible listing of their children. Does anyone have this? Perhaps someone could write to Dave and ask if he would like to join this list and continue on the discussion here, as I am sure there are several of you on the list who descend from Jonathan BUCK born 1755 in PA. Has the middle name of the Jonathan Buck who married Zuriah Covalt ever been proven? Some have Jonathan Taylor Buck, and I believe someone the other day talked about a Jonathan Cornelius Buck. Is there a middle name on Jonathan Bucks tombstone? I realize this family has been hard to trace and it would be interesting to find some new insights/theories. Some of the problems I believe revolve around the unsolved issues of the Thomas BUCKs from Middletown, CT. This is the url for my database at WorldConnect which represents my struggles with this family to date: http://wc.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=mscheffler&id=I28998 Margaret Scheffler ----- Original Message ----- From: <ALVJR@aol.com> To: <buck@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 06, 2006 1:19 PM Subject: Re: [BUCK] Morgan Buck > What is the connection between Morgan BUCK and Jonathon BUCK Sr b 1755 > al vahlkamp > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > BUCK-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes > in the subject and the body of the message >

What info do you have that Jonathon Sr. was the son of Thomas. I have Thomas b 1758 as Jonathon Sr's brother. Morgan was born in1823 in NC and then shows up in the Arkansas 1850,1870, censuses. He is the only Morgan Buck I can find born that year in NC. Another researcher told me that easternTenessee and NC traded counties back and forth in that time period. Any more info you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Dave

Isaac BUCK m. Hannah HICKS 7 May 1775 in Philadelphia which is 20 years too late for Jonathan to be the son of Isaac. I have no children connected to Isaac BUCK & Hannah HICKS and would be interested if anyone has any with reasonable verification. If Morgan is the grandson of Jonathan BUCK who married Zuriah Covalt, are there records of some of the family going from Tenessee to NC and Arkansas?

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VYG.2ACIB/1604.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks for responding so quickly. I am pretty sure that Morgan Buck had a son John Jasper Buck. John's son Hardy Sherman Buck was my wife's grandfather. Morgan was born in North Carolina and was married to Matilda ( also noted as Martha in some places.) I am pretty sure his father was Jonathon Cornelius Buck b 1785 in NC his 1st wife was Nancy or Glady Denton and his second wife was Elizabeth "Becky" Barnett b 1793 in NC. Jonathon C Buck Sr was born 12 Jan 1755 in Cumberland CO PA and was married to Zuriah Covalt. Sr.'s father was Isaac Buck b 1729 in PA and Hannah Hicks b. 1733 in PA. >From Census records in Arkansas I am pretty sure that Morgan is the Father of John and the son of Elizabeth. They were all living next door to one another in the 1870 census as was Cornelius, another of Elizabeth's sons. There is a posting on rootsweb.com by a Mamie Logue that shows these relationships as well but i have not been able to make connection with here to see if she has any other data. I have also corresponded with a John Buck from Ohio who has a different set of kids listed for JC Buck Jr. without Morgan. Any info. you have would be appreciated.. Thanks David Ellis-Anwyl

Hello, I am searching for anyone else who is researching Nelson Buck b: 1808 Chemung County, NY d: 1869 at the Nelson Buck Massacre in Nebraska. My main goal is to verify his marriage to Fidelia Wethey in Port Byron, NY. This is the only source that I have been able to locate on this topic. http://www.rootsweb.com/~neharlan/buck.html According to my family lore, Fidelia Wethey had one son named Oliver P. Buck b: abt. 1832 d: 1907 Lane County, Oregon. Most records say that he was an illegitimate child. However, the above article claims that Nelson Buck was married to Fidelia Wethey. Oliver P. Buck changed his name to Oliver P. Wethey in 1853. He changed his name from Oliver Buck to Oliver Wethey 21 Jul 1853. (1853 NY Acts, CH.640 p.1223) I am searching for anyone that has additional information about Nelson Buck. My data is posted at: http://worldconnect.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=quedkr4&id=I1034 Thanks, Erik Quist
Have you contacted a good real estate atty? If the property is in your name now, it should not have been possible to do that without deeding it over to you, unless you made some alternate arrangements. You might also have title insurance, which is usually sold at the time of purchase.
