Hi Betty.... I wonder if it is something about the configuration of your computer? I saw your message when it appeared on the list, and it did NOT have the formatting figures which you have copied below.... So, I don't know exactly what to tell you - except that the message came to the list in a readable manner..... So the difficulty probably exists in some configuration setting on your own computer.... I just checked the archives, and your message is there in perfect form! You can go to the archives at the following URL: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/BUCK/2003-03/1047905897 or, here is a copy of what I found: BUCK-L Archives From: [email protected] Subject: [BUCK-L] BUCK FAMILY - WV and ??? Date: Mon, 17 Mar 2003 07:58:17 EST Have tried to find family for ALMIRA BUCK and PHILO (FILO) BUCK (Brother and sister) for years and thanks to L. Shinn, I can now place them with Parents WILLARD AND POLLY BUCK (according to Almira and William Knapp's Marriage Bond in Mason Co. WV). Willard and Polly both being from England. Now the task is to find more siblings and to find out which state, county, etc. they settled in. Would love to hear from anyone that might be able to help me with this puzzle.... Buck at the University of Wisconsin - which was very near my home in Madison, Wisconsin.... Don't remember what he taught (but assume that he was a teacher) but I do remember the name! If your ancestor could have been alive in the 1950's, you might want to contact the University of Wisconsin at Madison, to see if they have any info on him...... just a thought. And another thought: have you done a search on Google? I just did a search for "Philo Buck" and it brought up 9 entries, one of them concerning the fellow I mentioned above.... but a couple of others which may relate to the man you're looking for.... Worth a try! Best wishes. Do you have any info. on Edmund's siblings? I have a _______ Buck who was living in Elizabethtown, Ontario, Canada, in the late 1830's/early 1840's when his children Hiram, Phillip and Ella were born. His wife's name was Hannah. The family moved to Minnesota in the 1850's. I haven't been able to determine his name because he died before I can find the family in the Minnesota census, but I know that he died in about 1858 in Minnesota. His son, Hiram, married a woman who (according to the census) was born in Ohio. Hiram's wife was Louisa Crandall. Does this tie into your family? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Marian Sargent" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, March 09, 2003 12:43 PM Subject: [BUCK-L] Edmond Buck > Many thanks for the info on Edmund Buck! Tim and others, You are in luck for one generation which I found this afternoon in the Richards Buck family genealogy. I don't believe there are entries for any of the children's descendants. It appears that only two children from the list given could have descendants -- Elizabeth Bartlett BUCK and possibly William Raiguel BUCK. I do not know if this is the complete list of children. The places of birth were not listed, but from context I am thinking it is likely Bucksport, ME. I am searching for info on Edmund Buck, b. Mass. 1805 to John Buck and his wife Elizabeth Bartlett. Is anyone out there researching this line? Who did Edmund marry and who were his children? This may or may not be my Edmund Buck, but I would like to rule it out if it is not! Many thanks for any help! Marian in Michigan
