Buchmann; Esther Vicks Buchmann "Everyone's Aunt Esther" Esther Vicks Buchmann, age 99, passed away Wednesday November 21, 2007 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born August 30, 1908 the daughter of the late Charles and Victoria Cagliola Vicks. A lifelong resident of Erie, Esther was formerly a singer with the Ere Philharmonic and the Siebenbuerger Chorus and was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. She had served as a nurse's aid at St. Vincent Center during WW II. A wonderful cook, Esther loved being in her kitchen. She also enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and music. She was dearly loved, and affectionately known to everyone as Aunt Esther. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Paul J. Buchmann; a sister, Rose Cummings and two brothers, Richard and Albert Vicks. Esther is survived by a sister Victoria DeCoursey of Erie, along with 43 nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at the John J. Quinn Funeral Home, West 9th &Liberty St. Sunday from 2-4 &7-9 p.m. and are invited to attend Prayer Services there Monday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church.
