In 1859, he married Louisa Schweickart in Ohio. Later, they moved to Kentucky. I don't know what religion they were raised, but they were married in a Lutheran Church. Hopefully, I'll be able to visit this Church in the next month or two as they still have their records from the 1800s. Both Martin and Louisa died in Lexington, KY and are buried in Lexington Cemetery. Their daughter Elizabeth Buchmann Gillespie is my great-grandmother.
