Priscilla -----Original Message----- From: bryant-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:bryant-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Eleanor Prieskorn Sent: Monday, January 29, 2007 10:46 AM To: Bryant-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [BRYANT] William Bryant My Bryant's are from N.H back to 1749 before that there are three trails, Scotland, Ireland and Canada. I have not been able to pin down the correct Andrew Bryant m Maribah Bartlett Bartlett Bryant b 17 Mar 1787 NH m Lydia Colby b 22 Jul 1790 (date still unknown for marriage) Their son Thomas Franklin (Frank) Bryant b 20 May 1831 Hanover, Grafton, NH d 09 Sep, 1901 West Lafayett, Indiana. My Grandfather William Henry (Brown) Bryant b 03 Nov 1868 but the census of 1880 says he was 9 years old and Thomas had taken him to raise. I have been trying to find his birth parents; my search so far has turned up nothing. (1) I thought at first this could be a sister's child married to a Brown, (Have found nothing on that yet) (2) Also thought maybe Thomas had been married before his wife Catherine Harty and William was former wife's son from a former marriage and she died and he took William to raise (found nothing on this either) (3) I found a William Henry Brown on the "Orphan Train" Year 1871 Jay County IN. his age matches the age on 1880 census. (William's death certificate stated birth 1868) (4) Catherine Harty was also very young when she married Thomas; she was 25, and Thomas 50. They married 10 Aug 1871 Randolph County Indiana Could Thomas have taken Catherine and William off the "Orphan Train" they were in the years that Indiana joined the train to place children and at times with the child's mother. Does any one have any of these Bryant's in there line. Catherine and Thomas also had their own children. Rowell Otis ( Rollie) died age 21 Glass blower died unmarried Jacob F Bryant- living with mother in 1900 census Glass blower John Bryant- m also a glass blower Stella I Bryant Also found her as Estella Imo Bailey she married Ulrich Bailey I found Jacob and Stella born in Redkey Indiana. I sure hope I can get over this brick wall Thank you in advance for any help or idea's here.
