I am looking for information on Lewis Bryant, birth and place unknown. He was listed in the 1830 Choctaw Roll "Armstrong Roll" as a white man married to an indian. He was granted land in 1831 in Newton county, MS. by the treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek through his wife. His land was where the present day town of Hickory, MS is. I have documation of one son, Alfred Bryant b. 1802 Nelson County, KY married Nancy Ford b 1812 Ohio. Lewis had five children at home in 1831 in MS. 2 other sons, Louis and Billy, were to have gone to the Admore Indian Territory in the early 1830's. I have no documentation for them, nor do I know what Lewis' indian wife's name, the names of the childern at home, or where Lewis came from, or who were his parents. I would appreciate any information anyone might have. Eva Ashford
