Good morning, John My last know location is as follows: Powell Bryant b 1800 in Buckingham County, Virginia Married Martha (Mary) Eagle b 1812 in Buckingham County, Virginia Powell's father was William Martin Bryant and his mother was Elizabeth H. Pettit (according to a cousin). William is the one I'm searching for and have been unable to locate. Once I pass that barrier, hopefully I can keep going backwards until I find out where we originated - either Ireland, England, Scotland, America....where ever. My father always told me that we had a royal Scottish ancestor with flaming red hair. He also told me that we were Irish and that my great grandmother, Mary Frances Via Bryant, was of Cherokee heritage. Again, I have been researching this family for about 30 years (since my teens) and haven't been able to prove any of this so far. In looking at the information I have, it appears that Buckingham County, Amherst County, Appomattox, Nelson County and city of Lynchburg, are the prominent locations that I have so far. I don't know what other states my relatives may have lived in. Again, any help you can provide would be wonderful! Thank you for responding! Have a nice Sunday!
