My Bryant's came from Buckingham, Co., VA. His name was Austin Bryant, 1770-80. His wife Was Elizabeth, "Betsy", b. 1780, VA., according to the 1850 census, but according to the children's birth it would be more likely 1790. When they left to go west, Arkansas, they went thru KY., where they had a son, William C. Bryant. I can't find out where in KY. Can anyone place this family with theirs? Do we have a DNA site? If you have a local genealogical society, they might have the wonderful Family Tree Maker: KY Genealogies #1, 1700-1800s from Genealogical Publishing Co. Inc. I saw no Austin Bryant, but it tells of probable early ancestor, Bryan, b. abt. 927 who became King of Munster, Ireland at age 51. It starts off with the spelling "Bryant" used mostly in NC, and of Morgan Bryant who emigrated from north of Ireland to Chester Co., PA. then in 1728 obtained grant of 100,000 acres on the Potomac and Opequan River in VA. Morgan Bryant was father to four sons, John, Gabriel, Roger, and ? who were founders of Bryant's Station in 1779. Then it has tons of m. info. Good Luck. LuJuana 76yr.
