This is my position on this matter taken months ago It is about truth. I have matches with my 4th cousin and 2 O'briens plus 16 other surnames. http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/read/genealogy-dna/2007-01/1168401893 We in our line have had a lot of early deaths of men and who knows what else. I am now working with a man who has had two surname changes in his line. He was most likely born in Fountain County IN move then adopted in LaPorte County IN Then his ancestor went to the gold rush in CA from there to Australia. He now lives in Canada. I am working to get a bigger database for all Bryant's and related families. There was most likely a battle in Scotland and everyone was left without a Dad or transported leaving their family behind to fend for themselves. I am the lucky? I match with a Briant to 1750 I have 4 matches that will not responed to e-mails. Now William was 9 years old when taken by Thomas F Bryant (1880 census) to raise. Catherine Harty Bryant is believed to be his mother also the mother of 4 other children. I listed names and births also place, but the reply was do a DNA. I think this DNA is a bit out of line, and stops the search for Bryant's, It seems to me that the blood line is more to you then the love given to the children by the Bryant's that could not have children. Your Bryant line might not have gone on if not for the adopted children, seems there was a problem of fathering their own. I am a Bryant, so was my father, and if my grandfather did not love his foster, step, or adopted father he would not have taken the name. I am not aiming this at Bryant's that might not be a "so called true blood" Eleanor L Bryant Prieskorn -----Original Message----- From: bryant-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:bryant-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of John Bryant Sent: Monday, April 02, 2007 9:12 AM To: bryant@rootsweb.com Subject: [BRYANT] How to integrate paper trials and DNA research Example!!!!! http://www.renshawdna.com/Charts.htm John Bryant R1b1c* http://www.familytreedna.com/public/r1b/ Irish Type III http://au.geocities.com/t120r61/Irish_Type_III.htm #57501 at OBrien project http://www.familytreedna.com/public/obrien/ Josiah Bryant Cooperative Research Group http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~ourbryants/index.htm ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to BRYANT-request@rootsweb.com with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
