    1. [BRYANT] Baby Girl (Bryant) Brown; Union, Newton, Ms; . . .
    2. born 5/31/1922 in Union (Newton) Ms. to a William Brown (Railroad Worker), 28 years old, and Nita Bryant, 17.5 years of age - both gave their home as Sebastopol. I have reason to believe that William Brown was in reality my grandfather Verna Montgomery Brown - better known as "Bill" Brown - why he was called "Bill" I don't know. He had married my Grandmother Maud Lee Bryant 9/10/1921. Nita is generally a shortened form of Juanita - not Maud or Lee. Nita would have been born in 1904 or 1905, so will also show up in the 1910 Soundex. And yes, I think my grandmother might not have been my mother's mother! My grandfather had a lady friend named Juanita who he thought well enough of to name another daughter after her. Any information you can provide will be helpful. If you have access to the 1920 SOUNDEX for Mississippi, I'd appreciate it if you can do a search for a Juanita Bryant, approximately 15 years old. I have no idea what part of the state she was really from so send any you find. Thanks. PS: The brilliant people who run our library here in Orlando didn't get the SOUNDEX - they decided to get the census ONLY to save money! It's like a library without a card catalog.
