I do not know that the William Bryant listed in the Madison County 1860 census was connected to my line, but he was in the same county where an Elizabeth Bryant married married a William Sear in 1858. William Bryant's household raises many questions. Listed as a 28-year-old blacksmith, he was born in England. Presumably Emma, 22, b. England, was his wife. The two girls in the household, Kate 17 and Salina 11, were also born in England. The other person in the household was an Elizabeth Cook, age 23 b. England. The two girls would be too old to be children of William Bryant and Emma. Does anyone recognize any of these Bryants? My ancestor was Lizzie BRYANT, but unfortunately I know very little about her. Census records say she was born in England (one says New Jersey). Her daughter, Elizabeth Sear/Sears, was born to Lizzie and William Sears/Sears in Hartford, Connecticut, 1866. Elizabeth married in Idaho in 1883, but I can find no record there of her mother. Lizzie may have died or divorced as I believe that William had another wife in 1870. I wonder if Lizzie could have been related to the William Bryant above. Roberta
