    3. Don't forget the Y-DNA testing participant must be a direct line male descendant of the BRYANT / BRIANT ancestor. If your line descends through a daughter of William BRIANT b ca 1812 the Y-DNA direct line will not go father to son etc. down through the generations. You will need a participant who is descended through a son of William BRIANT b ca 1812. -----Original Message----- From: bryant-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:bryant-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Cindy Tyson Sent: Tuesday, March 13, 2007 11:04 AM To: bryant@rootsweb.com Subject: [BRYANT] DNA testing and my Bryants I would love to find a male relative who would consent to being tested. I know there are at least three males in my line but none will agree to it. I do not know these men but others have approached them. I am at a dead-end. Just in case someone has happened on my line it is as follows: William Briant b. abt 1812 in NC married Mary (Polly) Ramey of Scott Co, VA. They are on the 1870 census for Scott Co but seem to disappear after that. I later pick up one daughter and her spouse in 1890. I descend from this line. There was a son born to William and Mary but I've not been able to find his line either. I have what little information I have posted on my website at www.tribalpages.com/tribes/clean01 if anyone would like to see the line as I have it. I appreciate any information or help you can provide. I also have copies of some wills from NC Briants/Bryants that don't happen to be part of my line if anyone is interested. I got them from the State Archives in Raleigh, NC.
