    3. I have a book "Some Inter-related Families of Livingston County Missouri" by Douglas H. Sampson. The families in book are Austin, Culling, Vaughan, Smith, Lyda, William Anderson family. Fryer, McCoskrie (my husbands Grandfather was Irvin McCoskrie), BRYAN, Maupin, Sidden and John Anderson family. There is also hundreds of others people listed who married into these families. I also have a book called "History of McCoskrie Descendents" with a lot of Bryan information. The McCoskries and Bryans had a lot of marriages between the two. At least one first cousin marriage. So my husband ties in with the Bryan's along several of their lines. The earlist Bryan for my husband Norman Allen Metzner (Have more history in books on all these Bryan's including copies of some personal papers) 1 .Sir Thomas Bryan I- (Norman Metzner's 13th G. Grandfather) the earliest of the Bryan grandsires of whom there is authentic record, born England he was chief Justice of the Common Pleas from 1471 untill his death. His will proved 11 Dec. 1500 mentions his son Thomas Thomas's wife, and an illegitimate daughter. 2. Sir Thomas Bryan II m. Lady Bourchier. He was knighted by the 7th Henry (Henry VII) in 1497 3. Sir Francis Bryan I - m.1st Phillippa Montogomery had son Sir Edward Bryan m. 2nd Lady Joan, the widow of James Bulter Earl of Ormond, an Irish noble. He married Lady Joan in 1548 and moved to Ireland. He died in Feb. of 1550 at Clonmel and was buried at Waterford Ireland 4. Sir Francis Bryan II - (son of Sir Francis I and Lady Joan) Born in Ireland m. Ann Daughter of Sir William Smith. he inherited from his mother, estates in County Clare. 5. William Smith Bryan - attempted to gain the throne of Ireland and was deported in 1650 by Lord Oliver Cromwell. He lost his title and his lands. With eleven sons he went to virginia(thoroughbred record credits him with being among the first to bring horses to America.) His sons and Grandsons (supposedly a total of 21) settled Gloucester Co.(his wife was unknow) his eldest son was- 6. Francis Bryan III- born Ireland circa 1630. He returned to Ireland from VA and tried to regain the County Clare estates. He had to seek refuse in Denmark he returned to Ireland about 1694. He married Sarah Brinker a cousin to the Princess of Orange. He had two sons and they both came to America. Morgan Bryan b. 1671 Denmark D. 1763 m. Martha Strode 7. William Bryan b. 1685 County Down, Ireland d. 1789 at the age of 104 yrs. Near Salem, VA or Roanoke City m. Margaret ? Know children John Andrew b.prior to 1717, Balleyroney, Co., Down Ireland d. Dec. 1799 James Bryan, Davis Bryan, Mary Bryan m. Phillip Bush, and William Bryan Jr. m. 1st Margaret Watson 2nd Elizabeth ? 8. John Andrew Bryan - b. 1717 m. Mary Morrison and moved to Fairfields, Rockbridge; Co. VA and later to Campbell Co, Va where he brought land. (have their children) 9. William Bryan - b. 1744 m. Mary ? He inherited his fathers land in VA. Sold it and moved to NC where he got a land grants(the area later became part of the State of Tenn.) Williams brother Andrew Morrison Bryan m. Mary Akers also moved to NC, but later returned to Campbell Co., VA he died Dec. 9 1799.Children: *1.John Bryan b. Sept 6 1769 VA d.
