My earliest ancestor is JACINTH H. BRYAN/BRYANT Jan. 11, 1798- Jul. 23, 1871. I have seen the last name spelled both ways when his name has been in print. He married Sarah Ward Jul 20, 1822 in Jefferson co. Al. This 1850 and 1860 says he was from Georgia, my Uncle Walter says he remembers his grandfather saying the family came from Texas. Jacinth and Sarah had three children, Stephen VanBuren Bryan/Bryant 1839, he served in the civil war, died before his enlistment was up, buried in Va. J.W. Bryan/Bryant 1844 referred to as James. W.J. Bryan/Bryant 1846 referred to as Willis was a constable in Lamar and Fayette county Al. Annetta, may have had a initial M., may have married a David A. Harkins in Alabama. Family lived in Vernon/Millport Al. I have information from my gg grandfather down, but nothing much on Jacinth and Sarah, would like to hear from anyone who might connect.
