Allen, I have read ( @ this moment I donot have the copy with me) that in the 1600s a William Smith O'Bryan came over from England(?). This was during the flight of the eagles ( I believe). The first Irish gentlemen left England and Ireland were stripped of their Titles and land holdings. William Smith O'Bryan came to the colonies and with him his family and what every else he could bring which totally filled the ship with just his family and goods. I will look for the book title and send it to you. Funny thing is, I cannot find much of him listed elsewhere as having arrived in the colonies during that time. I wonder why?? I did however find in another book that there was such a gentleman and the English goverment was so inflamed by him that they did all in their power to rease his name and memory from the minds of Ireland and England. I guess that they did a fairly good job. The only thing I can find was that he was from Sir William Smith O'Bryan line. He did try to reclaim his title but was not sucessful. I will wend more later on. I told you that he was born about 1800, but I see now that that is wrong. He was born before that. He was born early enough to be Dennis' brother or cousin. Allen >>
