    1. [BRYANT] Thoughts on DNA and documenting research
    2. John Bryant
    3. I am of a age to remember when my Dad bought a tractor to replace the horses on our farm in the 1930's. Lowell Chambers one of my cousin once removed who live across the gavel road from us did not change over until several years later. In my DNA matches several people of different surname some of which had written books on their family history, that now have to rewrite, because there appears to have been several adoptions or widows remarry after their husbands early death. So much for documenting research without DNA it with the horse and buggy days but some take longer that others. John Bryant In couple of years expect the standard test to be Y100 for Y-DNA. By information in Bruce Walsh paper, paper trials will not be as important as DNA at that time. Here is a link to that paper for your reference. http://www.genetics.org/cgi/reprint/158/2/897.pdf
