Joyce, I have seen so many surprises, I really would rather not say. My advice, is to test for the most marker you can afford now. It the best value. You have the report for ever. The total cost is more if you do it in stages. It a risk either way. In the long term Y- DNA is going to get better than paper trials. One company now own most of the patent on testing and will come with a Y100 when sales drop for Y67. I have 467 matches at Y12, because I am a R1b, the Bryant that was a N got none. R1b1 and N are Haplogroups from population studies. In my case R1b1c* come mosty from three counties in Ireland. John Bryant ============================================================= John, My mothers family are Iricks. I have one last uncle alive of our Irick line. There are only three or four prominant Irick lines in the US. I would like to have my uncles DNA taken before it is too late. However, the other Irick branches are well linked and known as far as I can find. Our branch is an orphan branch so to speak turning up in Tenn. The other branches went to Pa and Ohio mostly or were in S.C. or Ga. One was in N.Y. How can get DNA to work for out family?
