I have no information on the ancestors of John Bailey who married Matilda Bryant. I'm descended from Matilda and her 2nd husband, Reuben Gates Chapman and have not researched the Bailey line. All I know about John Bailey is that he was born in 1808 in Kentucky and died in 1838 in La Porte Co., Indiana. He and Matilda were married 19 May 1833 in Sullivan Co. Indiana. John & Matilda had three children: 1) Mary E. Bailey b. 1834 in La Porte Co., IN - md. Thomas Hamilton in 1854 in Lake Co. IN 2) Josiah B. (probably Bryant but I can't substantiate it) Bailey b. 1835 in La Porte Co., IN - md. Nancy E. Kile. 3) Simon Turman Bailey b. 26 Mar 1838 in Westville, IN - md.
