Thank you Marynell for the additional leads- Can anyone offer me an opinion please- Ahasuerus Dyer was from Christian Co., KY- he married Lucretia Bryant when he was abt 19 and she between 15-18 in Sumner co. Tn (1810). In 1820 I find them in Montgomery Co., TN Later when Ahasuerus files for a divorce (1821),Ahasmerus was residing in Sumner county and Lucretia was residing in Lincoln Co., TN. There were several Bryants as well as relatives of Ahasuerus also residing in Lincoln co., TN Should I concentrate on Sumner co records to locate her parents? What type of documents should I concentrate on to find out who her parents were??? Thanks for any advice Rae

Rachel, In my opinion, you must look in both. After a split up in that time women needed help. If her lover was in Sumner Co., and available, I would suspect she would have stayed in Sumner Co. Otherwise she would probably seek help from a close relative, parents or a sibling. Any Bryant that was of the right age and in Sumner Co. in 1810 is a prime suspect. Any Male Bryant in Sumner Co. in 1810 who then turns up in Lincoln Co. in 1820 would become the leading candidate for a "close" relative.
