Neither name is familiar to me. My GGrandfather Allen B Bryant and his wife, Sarah Snider Bryant lived in Franklin, KY. He is buried in the Peden Cemetery there. Their sons (twins) Daniel C and Charles married sisters, Perdues. Charles stayed in Tennessee (large Bryant family there) and Daniel moved to Missouri and then to Kansas (large Bryant family there). My father, Bertain Yancey Bryant, was born in Missouri, moved to Kansas and married twice. I am a product of the 2nd marriage. My father was born in 1879 and his father was a soldier in the civil war. Betty Bryant Barker ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com

I think most men in that era who had the name George also had the middle name Washington. Hope you have lots of success in tracing your Bryant line. And thank you for wishing me luck, too....all of us need it. I also have a George Washinton Bryant in my family (my father's brother) but he was born in Kansas around 1890. He was married to Bessie Miranda, died in Yucaipa, Ca around 1960, had one son, Maurice Bryant who was married to an Audrey ? and had two sons. The Bryant line from which I came was from Virginia, via Tennessee, in the area which became Kentucky, Missouri and to California. Good luck looking for your George W Bryant. ________________________________________ PeoplePC Online A better way to Internet http://www.peoplepc.com
Thanks for wishing me luck. I think my George W. Bryant may have either been George Washington Bryant or George Wesley Bryant. Not sure of course. Thanks for the replies, Christine Bryant Scott
Hi, I would be interested to know if any of you are related to James Andrew Bryant and Mintlee Downs in Trigg County Kentucky.
Hi MaryNell, I saw this and although I wasn't the one submitting about that Sarah, I remember corresponding with you before my husband died (1996). I didn't have a computer at the time, nor did I care about researching the family for a very long time. But, I am back in the saddle now. Would love to hear from you. T'Lene Bryant-Tillotson I, too, had a Sarah Bryant (daughter of John and Ellender Allen Bryant). I have found them in Jackson Co. Ala (what is now called Bryant, AL but formerly Long Island and Carpenter). Sarah married a Winfield Scott Porter and they moved to Arkansas where she died. My great grandfather was George Washington Bryant (1850-1910) - he was son of John and Ellender. His son, Standifer A. Bryant, was my grandfather...he married Amanda Licena Boatner. They are buried in Bryant, AL (Jackson County). My father was Earl Stanford Bryant (1909-1984) and mother was Cora Lee Smith (1908-1947). I won't be online this weekend, but will be next week if anyone wants to share information. I am looking for anyone who might know of or be descended from George W. Bryant and his wife Rebecca. I believe that George W. Bryant and his wife Rebecca Hollcomb/Halcomb Bryant were both born in Georgia, but by the time my grandfather Jonathan A. Bryant was born in 1858 they were in Alabama. Nothing is known about George W. Bryant or his wife Rebecca. It is believed that George W. Bryant was killed in the civil war between the states. Their son, my grandfather Jonathan Alexander Bryant later married Sarah Emmaline Gray and they were in Grayson County Texas before 1890 because about that time they moved to Oklahoma Indian Territory. My dad Calvin Earl Bryant was born near Enos Oklahoma in Dec. 17 1908. He was the youngest of about eight kids. Jonathan Alexander Bryant died 1922 in Marshall County, Oklahoma and his wife Sarah Emmaline died March 25 1942 in Marshall county Oklahoma and they are both buried near Lark, Oklahoma. Hi all, I have several websites on Virginia genealogy. Old Virginia Obituaries, 1790-1940: http://virginiaobits.homestead.com/ and Miscellaneous Virginia Genealogy: http://vagenealogy.homestead.com are two of them, there are also links on these sites to other pages of mine as well as other websites that may be helpful. I hope you find some information that is helpful to you. God bless, Beth delaiesther@att.net
I wonder if anyone knows if anyone has written a book about Benjamin Franklin Bryant and/ or his Bryant family. Benjamin Franklin Bryant played a part in the fight for independence for Texas from Mexico. He fought with Sam Houston and started a fort in Milam County, Texas called Bryant's Station. He is buried in Austin, Texas along with his wife Roxanne Price Bryant in historical grave sites. I just wondered if anyone knew if a book had ever been written about his life and his Bryant family. I am a descendant of his brother, James Bryant and wife Mary Polly Price who was a sister to Roxanne Price. They were from Georgia and North Carolina before that I think. Sorry my query about Alex BRYANT was so incomplete. The only other thing I know about him was that he was an early settler on Patterson Creek in Knox Co later Whitley Co KY. I am not positive that his parents were Abner BRYANT and Sarah. Please forgive me for taking a long shot try. I regret being so sketchy and evasive. I do appreciate very much all of the e-mails that I have received in this quest. Hi, Marsha. The James BRYANS I was referring to is James BRYANS,. b. abt. 1750,m d. 1833, according to his RW pension application datefd 1820.. He m. Margaret WELCH in 1779. According to his application, he has the following children at home in 1820: Gerta/Greta, 1794; twins Betsy & Else/Alice, 1797; Peggy (Margaret), 1801 and Augustus, 1804. These are the born dates. There were probably more children born before 1794. My James T. BRYANS was b. 1790 and there were other males b. about that same time. I have decided on the James BRYANS, b. 1750, as the father of James b. 1790 , mainly because of the preponderance of evidence, childen with the same names, etc. This is the extent of my knowledge re James BRYANS b. 1750. I know nothing of any Georgia BRYANTs, even though I know some BRYANTs went there. And as far as I know there was not a David Washington BRYANT in the line I am researching. Hope I have answered your question. Happy Hunting, Cousin Mary in OK WILLIAMS, BRYANT/BRIANT, ALDERSON, WINFREY, DODD, TURPIN, ADAMSON. All VA & TN
