John, Thanks for replying. My brothers data is posted on Family Tree DNA http://fly.hiwaay.net/~woliver/Oliver_YDNA.html. His # is 13834. He descends from John Lawson "Dick" Bryant , born in Trigg County Kentucky on October 4, 1912. His father was, James Andrew Bryant, who was born in 1881 in Todd County Kentucky. Thank you, Lois Rundle </HTML>
Just some notes only one of 10 matches at Y25 match 100% at Y37 Do you know what line of Bryant he connect to. Did he posted on Y search. If so Dennis will post him on Irish type III website if he fits. I have you tried inputing his data to http://www.smgf.org/ychromosome/search.jspx to see if there is any matches Thank for dealing with issue in a public place I will check out his data. Y DNA has to be father- son father- son and it doesn't about care about surnames. It stays the same except for mutation that happen at the average rate of 1 every 500 generations for each marker. So if there a gal in the line it breaks the chain. Searching for the parents of Francis Bryant b. March 02, 1787 - Canada (Lower?) and died August 05, 1878 Waukon, Iowa. He was married to Susannah Griggs (b. 1792 - October 22, 1864, Waukon, Iowa) about 1819, unknown whereabouts. Several of their children were born in Shefford Quebec but I haven't seen their marriage there. Most of the family left Shefford, except for my direct ancestor Jared, by 1845 since land records in Illinois show Francis and Susannah owning land in Lake Co. Susannah's parents were John Griggs and Hannah Scouten from Halfmoon, NY who came to Alburg, VT. They were Loyalists as is the Bell line that Jared Bryant marries into shown below. Children of Francis & Susannah: Mary J. Bryant b. December 04, 1829, Shefford - d. January 19, 1855, Lake Co., Illinois Hannah Bryant b. February 24, 1821, Can. Married James C Bartlett (4 children) Francis Bryant b. February 23, 1824- d. September 21, 1845, Lake Co., Illinois Jared Bryant married Fanny Bell Susannah Bryant b. April 18, 1826. Married Warren D. Harden (4 children) Gardner Childs Bryant b. August 18, 1831 - d. May 06, 1918, Black Hawk County, IA. Married Nancy E. Russell ( 4 children) Wilford Douglas Bryant b. August 29, 1835, Shefford, Quebec - d. 1905, Orchard, Mitchell Co, Iowa. Married Eliza Amy Walling(d.1874, Orchard, Mitchell Co, Iowa) on November 10, 1857, Floyd County , Iowa. Wilford Jr. born 1858, Iowa. Rosannah Bryant b. October 22, 1833, Shefford- d. 1898, Waukon, Iowa. Married Franklin B. Russell ( b. July 16, 1864) on November 10, 1857, Floyd County Iowa I have talked with a few Bryant researchers on this family and one of them told me that the Father of Francis may be William or Isaac and that the Father applied for land grants for himself and his 2 sons who were over 18. They did receive this land. The Father in Hemingford and the kids in Potton, Quebec. Another researcher sent this to me: Leslie Bryant Potton Brome 200 1803 27-May B Grants 164 226 Isaac Bryant Potton Brome 200 1803 27-May B Grants 164 226 - Isaac Bryant Hemingford Huntingdon 200 1803 17-Jun B Grants 143 486 - I am a direct desendant of William Patrious Bryant of PEI Canada. William Patricious Bryant was born in Birmingham England. Isaac Bryant of Hemingford & Fort St Johns (Montreal) 1790's. British service during "the Rebellion." Other Bryants of Hemingford: Isaac Jr; William; Leslie. "Oct31,1797 to Laughland McLean Captain of the 84th Regiment" Grants on July 1803 to Leslie Bryant and Issac Bryant" found in "the Easterntownships" by CM Day pg 281 This seems to indicated that Francis Bryant's Father is Isaac and he had brothers William, Leslie, and Isaac. A letter was written by the Father that is supposed to be in the "Archives of Canada". He wrote it while a merchant in Montreal explaining how difficult it was to be a Loyalist. I hope someone else has this family or knowledge of Francis' ancestors. I would like to know where this family comes from along with the B,M, and D dates and places if possible. Thank you for anything concerning Francis' ancestors, Lynn ************************************** See what's free at http://www.aol.com.

For Bob Bryant: Having been looking through your msgs and the following occured to me: Do you think Tillman Bryant's first name is actually a surname? Also I was looking at GenForum under the name Tillman and I saw the surname Tilghman also used for Tillman. There is an also query in GenForum that states in part "looking for children of John Tillman born 1815 in Chatham County N. C. married Nancy Edwards about 1834. They lived in Tenn." This person is or was trying to connect Levi W. Patterson born 1836 to the Tillman family. This is old data but could be useful. Its msg #1238 under Tilghman. If I find anything else I will pass it on. Ellie Call Richmond Va.

I have no information on the ancestors of John Bailey who married Matilda Bryant. I'm descended from Matilda and her 2nd husband, Reuben Gates Chapman and have not researched the Bailey line. All I know about John Bailey is that he was born in 1808 in Kentucky and died in 1838 in La Porte Co., Indiana. He and Matilda were married 19 May 1833 in Sullivan Co. Indiana. John & Matilda had three children: 1) Mary E. Bailey b. 1834 in La Porte Co., IN - md. Thomas Hamilton in 1854 in Lake Co. IN 2) Josiah B. (probably Bryant but I can't substantiate it) Bailey b. 1835 in La Porte Co., IN - md. Nancy E. Kile. 3) Simon Turman Bailey b. 26 Mar 1838 in Westville, IN - md. Sarah Ellen Hull in 1859 in Lafayette, IN.
