Hello, I'm looking for info on Josiah Bryant - b. abt 1754 in South Carolina. His father's name is supposed to be Charles Briand. Josiah md. abt 1783 to Lydia ? They had a son named Josiah, b. 1784 in Montgomery Co., Virginia. It is highly possible that Lydia may have been Cherokee Indian, although no proof has been established. Any information on either of the Josiahs or Charles would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mashane
I have been searching for the clue, as to why the James Guerrrant Bryant family line has had a George Smith Bryant for several generations. I found the tie, in some "notes from Douglas Register of Records of Goochland Parish", Virginia List of Marriages of children of Peter Guerrant & Magdalene Trabue, viz: 1. Jane Guerrant married James Bryant May 11, 1758 2. Daniel Guerrant married Mary Porter July 19, 1770, all in Manakintown, VA 3. Judith Guerrant married George Smith (no date) 4. John Guerrant married Elizabeth Porter (no date) 5. Magdalene Guerrant married Robert Moseley 1740 George Smith was last listed in the Vestry Book of King William Parish in 1730 (if this is the same one who married Judith Guerrant.)

They had five known children Hannah md George Washington Twitty; Winniford; Mary; James and Jane. The father of this family must have died young, as early as 1838 after the last child Jane was born. His wife Isibella moved with the children to Colbert or Lauderdale County Alabama. Is anyone familiar with this family? Is so unsual to know the name of the mother and children, but not the father!!!
