    1. Lewis Franklin Bryant
    2. Several days ago I sent an email regarding Susannah Bryant that married Hicks, half -Indian. I obtained that on www.familysearch.com. There are a few dates that are wrong. Her parents could not have been born on those dates, I think they should probably be death dates. At any rate there is quite a bit on her husband's line, a number of Cherokee Indians named. My line: Lewis Franklin Bryant believed to have been born in Great Britain, died 1794, SC, m. Mary?/Mary Asbille. Ambrose Edmond Lewis William Richard Susannah Hannah Ambrose Bryant b. SC m. Mary? Sentha (Cynthia?) Lewis James Travis Asa B. (Brinkley?) Asa B. Bryant b. abt 1800 SC m. Emlily C. (Cecilia?) Mary Victoria Eva Fannie Willie Edward Watson Curly Franklin The above info came from census/will/book/family. Most of this research was done in the early 80's and most can be proved. The book is one that I have not personally seen and do not know if it is still available. It is THE JONES & BROOKS FAMILIES: HISTORY & GENEALOGY OF ESCAMBIA COUNTY, ALABAMA, by J. M. Jones published by Genealogical Publishing Company, 111 Water Street, Baltimore Maryland 21202. In early 1980 the cost was then $10.75. If you fit into this line I will be happy to exchange information. Barbara

Please note that I gave the wrong email address for Betty Soukup, Iowa State Senator whose response was almost instantaneous. It should not be Soupkup...... [email protected] (Soukup, Betty) Thank you for your interest in the proposed change in the procedure relating to copies of birth records. This initiative will be part of the Department of Public Health's legislative package for the 2000 session. I have spoken with officials in the Department of Public Health to hear their rationale for this change. They have indicated that under current law anyone can walk into a county courthouse and look at birth records. Their concern stems, not from wanting to restrict access to such records, but from a history of abuse by those seeking to establish false identities. I understand your concern, but there is a specific problem the Department is trying to address and the Legislature will have to evaluate the arguments. I am unsure how to address this issue, but the Department has indicated they are willing to discuss alternatives. Thank you again for sharing your views with me. Please feel free to contact me with any additional information or comments. 1. [BRYANT] Bryant's in Florida
    2. Juanita Grimes
    3. Hey Everybody, Is there anyone out there that has the line of Bryant's that are from Jackson County Florida. My grandmother Willie Ann Bryant married a Albert Hayes. My understanding is that Grandfather Albert Hayes had been married at least 2 other times. In 1920's he moved to Florida where he met and married my grandmother. Pictures that I have of Albert Hayes shows he is at least part Indian. Possibly Creek, or Cherokee. My grandmother Willie Ann Bryant, in her picture bears the resemblance of Creek, Cherokee, and Seminole. I too know that I am one of these, or all of these. I really would like to find out. My oldest son also wants to know. So this makes my search more interesting than ever before. Can you help me in my search? Thanks, Juanita
