Eli's parents are unknown. I know only three children by name; there were 10 listed in 1820 Census: Bannister NRYANT m. on 16 Feb 1825 Biddy RAY in Henry Co., VA, Matilda Jane BRYANT m. 7 May 1838 Jesse Graves MARTIN in Henry Co., VA, and Elisha BRYANT m. 2 Oct 1839 Lucy HUNDLEY d/o Thomas Hundley & Lucy BECK. Elisha & Lucy were in Monroe Co. KY by 1844 and found in 1850 Census. All three children ended up in the Cumberland/Monroe/Metcalfe Co. KY area. 1787 Henry Co. Friends, Below is my Bryant line. This family moved from Culpeper County, Virginia to Bryantsburg, Indiana, where they apparently founded the town. They had eight children: Abigail, born 1646/47 John, born April 7, 1650 Mary, born May 29, 1654 Stephen, born Feb. 2, 1657 Sarah, born Nov. 28, 1659 Lydia, born Oct. 23, 1662 Elizabeth, born Oct. 17, 1665 Mehittable, born 1669/70 Lydia married William Churchill on Jan. 17, 1684, and died a widow on Feb. 6, 1736. She was buried in a Churchill lot, next to a Bryant lot in the cemetery at Plympton Green. Her son William Churchill Jr. married Ruth Bryant, a daughter of Lydias brother John. Another son, Deacon Samuel Churchill, married Joannah Bryant, also a daughter of John. Samuel Bryant was born Feb. 3, 1673, at Plympton, Mass., son of Lieut. Earliest known ancestor is James Monroe BRYANT born May 1856 in TN. Family history only...not documented....is he had a brother Thomas, they were orphaned as children & raised by an Aunt & Uncle (believed to be Thomas & Martha Little LURRY - his 2nd wife-his 1st was Sarah Allen) in Jonesboro, AR. I "believe" their father was possibly named John. James named his only son John Thomas Bryant & in 1860 census a John Brant (sp), age 25 so b. apx 1835 in NC, was living with the Lurrys in Jonesboro. The Lurrys returned to TN but don't know when. James was a surveyor in MO as a young man, then went to AR where he met & married Roxie PRINCE HALBROOK, they had Nancy Zellar Bryant who married Jake Arthur RICHARDSON.

He traveled eight miles every Sunday to the church of his choice. He served in the War of 1812. William Allen died May 11, 1858.
