Judy, Framlingham is in a very rural area. If William, the father, was one of the countless ag.labs. in the district he could have moved to another farm after attending a local hiring fair. There are a further 31 parishes within 5 miles radius of Framlingham. They are in the Registration Districts of Blything, Hoxne and Woodbridge as well as Plomesgate. Have you checked the 1851 census for all these surrounding places? The later information shows the family moved to London so you will need to check through the 1851, 61 and 71 censuses for London - a major task but there are some published indexes. His marriage in Shoreditch might help narrow down your search - but I wouldn't limit the search to Shoreditch. It would be worth your while subscribing to a London regional mailing list to ask whether anyone else has found the family. Search in: http://searches.rootsweb.com/cgi-bin/Genea/rsl Hope this helps. 1. [BRYANT] John Bryant - 1880 AL Census
    2. Has anyone ever found a John Bryant (about 68 yrs old) in the 1880 Alabama Census? I would expect to find him with his wife Eliza. They were probably in Tallapoosa Co., possibly in nearby counties. But I can't find him in the Soundex. Does anyone have another type of index to the 1880 census? I am thinking he may have been living with one of his children. Any clues? Thanks; Jeff Bryant - [email protected]

    1. [BRYANT] O'BRIANT/O'BRYAN/BRIANT/BRYNT/BRIEN, ETC.
    2. Hello List I am searching for information on William Jackson O'Briant said to have been born in TN and who was in Buckingham Co, VA in 1799, because that is where his son Cheatham was born. A William Jackson O'Briant is listed on the 1790 Federal Census for Fairfax Co, VA. I have no verification that William Jackson is the father of Cheatham, but according to LDS, he is. Cheatham is my gggrandfather. Cheatham was married to Ann Wright who died in 1839 and to Louisa Caroline Smith in 1840 in St. Clair Co, IL. Louisa C. is my gggrandmother. They later moved to Marion Co, IL where he died in 1879. I have all his children's names & spouses names, but little info beyond that except for Jesse, my ggrandfather, and his descendants. I would appreciate any information on not only William Jackson but also any siblings of Cheatham. Information on his children and their descendants is also welcome. (I have seen the O'Briant spelled O'Bryant, Brien, Briant, Byrnt, Brian, etc., even on official documents. From legal documents in my possession, it is evident that Cheatham and his wives could not read because their signature was always a mark. Evidently whoever was writing their names for them spelled the name as they heard it. For Cheatham's children's names, dates of birth, etc, please visit my website at: http://members.tripod.com/~ireton1/index.html Delores Ireton

    3. Since Rootsweb doesn't allow attachments we shouldn't be receiving any messages from a rootsweb list with an attachment. If we do we should suspect foul play. I received one the other day that had an exe command. Those should be immediately deleted and not opened. I happen to have recognized that particular one so I knew better than even try to open it. There is a worm that reads your address book and then sends messages to people on your list, so it could seem as if it came from a list but really didn't. ----- Original Message ----- From: John Spraberry <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Sunday, February 13, 2000 6:19 AM Subject: [BRYANT] Attachment to Eli Bryan(t) > Hi. 1. [BRYANT] William Bryant
    2. Sue Maxwell
    3. My Bryant's are the family of William Bryant who we believe is the son of Thomas Austin Bryant of Logan County, Ky. William and his family moved to Mississippi County, Mo. sometime after 1850 and he is believe to have died there before 1860 when his widow was listed in the 1860 census. In 1870 the widow Louisa Slack Bryant is living with her daughter Rebecca b. 1840 who is married to James Thomas Brumfield in Mississippi County, Mo. All of the children of William and Rebecca Slack Bryant appear to have left the Mississippi County, Mo. area and I have not been able to locate any of them. With the youngest son named Doctor D. Bryant you would think he would be easy to locate. Any help on any of these Bryants would be appreciated. The info on Augustine Bryant is the work of Bill Bryant whom I have sent a copy of this message. The info on Nancy Bryant is from Steve Trotter. We would appreciate any help on these lines. 1. Re: [BRYANT] Re: Nathan O'Bryan
    2. Allen, I have read ( @ this moment I donot have the copy with me) that in the 1600s a William Smith O'Bryan came over from England(?). This was during the flight of the eagles ( I believe). The first Irish gentlemen left England and Ireland were stripped of their Titles and land holdings. William Smith O'Bryan came to the colonies and with him his family and what every else he could bring which totally filled the ship with just his family and goods. I will look for the book title and send it to you. Funny thing is, I cannot find much of him listed elsewhere as having arrived in the colonies during that time. I wonder why?? I did however find in another book that there was such a gentleman and the English goverment was so inflamed by him that they did all in their power to rease his name and memory from the minds of Ireland and England. I guess that they did a fairly good job. The only thing I can find was that he was from Sir William Smith O'Bryan line. He did try to reclaim his title but was not sucessful. I will wend more later on. Janie In a message dated 02/13/2000 12:42:12 PM Eastern Standard Time, [email protected] writes: << Hi Janie, I looked back at the sketchy information I have on Nathan O'Bryan(Bryant). I told you that he was born about 1800, but I see now that that is wrong. He was born before that. He was born early enough to be Dennis' brother or cousin. Allen >>

    2. William L Bryan
    3. To Allen Taylor Allen you had stated in your last e-mail that your Bryant line founded the town of Bryantsburg. Information from the "History of Jefferson County 1889" shows that a Jacob Bryant laid out Bryantsburg, Monroe township 5 March, 1834. At this time it contained a post office, three stores, two blacksmith shops and had a population of 60 people. Section 11, town V, range X east. This Jacob Bryan(t) is my 3rd great-grandfather b. 1783 Robeson County, N.C. He moved from NC to Madison, Jefferson County, IN around 1822. Then around 1834 to Wabash, IN I'm wondering if our two Bryan(t) lines may in some way be connected. E-mail me direct at [email protected] William Bryan
