My mother's maiden name was Brumbaugh. Her father was Jacob O. (I thought it was Orlando) His second marriage was to Helena Pickup. They lived in Brooklyn and he worked for the RR. Helena was from Canada. I know he died in 1936 but that is the only date I am sure of. My mother spoke of a half sibling but never mentioned a name. She thought they were west of PA. rather than south. The info that really clicked was about the RR. She often spoke about how Jacob had invented things for the RR but never rec'd credit for it.
