Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/IRG.2ACIB/233 Message Board Post: I recently purchased a Victorian studio photographs (Cabinet Portrait) of Bess Brumbaugh and her mother “Mrs.” Brumbaugh at an antique shop in Forest Park, IL. I enjoy buying lovely old pictures like these in antique shops and locating descendants/family members so that I can re-unite the pictures, for only my costs, with people who will treasure them. The photo was taken by the S. W. Tate Studio in Pontiac, IL – which is in Livingston Co. It is my assumption that the photo was taken in just about 1900, and Mrs. Brumbaugh looks to be about 35-40 and Bess looks to be about 16. Mrs. Bumbaugh has a soft smile, but Bess does not look happy to be having her picture taken. Each woman is wearing a dark high-necked dress. The pictures is 6-¼” x 5-¼”, and is an original, on heavy card stock, as was typical during that time period. It is in excellent condition.
